Draft Resolution ISIS becomes IS-WAS


The United Nations Security Council Counter Terrorism Committee,
Alarmed by the grave atrocities committed by the anti-social elements such as Islamic State of Iraq
and Syria (ISIS),
Emphasising the need for a multilateral approach towards defeating the ISIS,
Reaffirming resolutions 2170(2014), 2178(2014), 2199(2015) and relevant presidential statements,
Recalling resolution 1373(2001) and emphasizing on the cooperation of nation states to combat this
threat,
Deeply disturbed by the inhumane acts of violent non-state actors such as ISIS,
Emphasizing on the need for a comprehensive and cooperative strategy against the ISIS,
Declaring that the United Nations Security Council-Counter Terrorism Committee (UNSC-CTC) will
do all in its power to counter threats to international peace,
1. Decides that Member States shall prohibit the provision by their nationals or from their
territory, of services, such as provision of fuel or supplies, or other servicing of vessels, to
Turkey vessels if said countries have information that provides reasonable grounds to believe
they are carrying items, the supply, sale, transfer, or export of which is reasonably assumed to
be related to the ISIS;
2. Requests all Member States and international financial and credit institutions not to enter into
new commitments for grants, financial assistance, or concessional loans to Turkey, except for
humanitarian and developmental purposes directly addressing the needs of the civilian

population, and also calls upon States to exercise enhanced vigilance with a view to reducing
other such current commitments;

3. Authorizes the creation of a team of legal experts for the evaluation of anti- terrorism laws in
Saudi Arabia, the findings of which are to be submitted before the Security Council,
a. Team will consist of 12 legal experts to be picked based on recommendations by the
International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice,
b. Evaluation will be based on the existence, efficiency and enforcement of said laws;
4. Recommends member nations to monitor all known and suspected social media accounts
related to the ISIS on various social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook among
others and take subsequent action as deemed necessary by said countries;
5. Endorses the introduction of an aggressive counter messaging campaign, both at the statesponsored and grassroots level, against the ISIS by member nations,
a. This campaign will include the usage of all mass media and related forums including,
but not restricted to, radio stations and social media websites,
b. This campaign will consist of the portrayal of the harsh realities and consequences of
joining the ISIS and the debunking of ISIS claims;
6. Takes note of The United States of Americas decision to withdraw all military and financial
aid to the Syrian rebel factions present within the Syrian Arab Republic;
7. Emphasizes the need for the establishment of an international forum of intelligence sharing
named as Cooperation in Humanitarian and Universal Terrorism (CHUT),
a. This intelligence sharing will only be with regard to matters pertaining to the ISIS,
b. This intelligence sharing forum shall include the relevant international bodies such as
the European Union, The Arab League, The African Union, North Atlantic Treaty
Organization, among others.
