Current Yolo County representative for a non-profit that provides resources, referrals, support and plans events for families within
Northern California. As a Community Parent for the WarmLine Family Resource Center, I attend local non-profit leadership meetings
on behalf of WarmLines Executive Director and represent WarmLine at outreach events. Additionally, I serve as coordinator and
facilitator for Warmline sponsored community events and educational trainings provided by experts in the medical field as well as
authorities in special education. Lastly, as someone who shares and understands the common experience of parenting a child with
special needs, I am in a unique situation to be able provide emotional and purposeful parent-to-parent support.
Creative Lead and Social Media Manager, Public Affairs and Outreach
California Victim Compensation & Government Claims Board | May 2009 July 2014
I served as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst within the public affairs department with the objective to promote awareness
and to publicize the VCGCB, its programs and information. Responsible for developing and implementing communication materials
for the California Victim Compensation Program (CalVCP), to reach crime victims and underserved populations within California,
while utilizing effective and appropriate outreach methods and strategies. In my position, I managed all of CalVCPs public social
media accounts and created the content, graphics and several social media-based advertising campaigns. I created policies and
procedures for social media account use, and continually monitored and responded to public inquiries. I utilized my experience
and skills as a designer to create visual communications on behalf of the VCGCB. I was solely responsible for conception, design and
production of all publications and outreach materials, including, but not limited to: brochures, posters, annual reports, legislative
reports, banners, environmental graphics, blogs, and infographics. I also assisted with the development and implementation of
CalVCPs communications and outreach plan. In addition, I monitored media affecting victim-issues, and relevant legislation. I helped
plan, coordinate, publicize and document all public activities, and worked to represent the CalVCP at outreach events. Lastly, I was
responsible for creating contract proposals, tracking budgets, and facilitating purchases for outreach and advertising expenditures.
