USING WORLDBROWSER
FOR IN-HOUSE TRAINING
AND
CONTINUING EDUCATION
This month the Help Desk focuses on
WorldBrowserls applications for in-house training and
continuing education.
First, I encourage you to browse the world, or
as Douglas, our CEO, puts it in this issues Endpiece,
shop. WorldBrowser makes it easy to explore new
destinations and develop new specializations, because
attraction information in every category, globally, is
brought together in this single resource. Cont. Pg 2 Col 1

The list of WorldBrowsers categories is accessed using the Browser tab at the upper left. Clicking
on each one produces a description of the category and
a list of the regions where attractions in that category are
found. While most category names are self-explanatory.
about a third need a bit of elaboration; those are highlighted in yellow in the most current list. Use the blue tab
to the left of the logo (center) to access it in the file
marked Archive-Misc. Print it and keep it handy.

Dont forget, too, you can hunt for fun and unusual attractions to explore in outside sources
(newsletters and blogs), all potential gold mines of ideas
to help market your services to current and future clients.
Finally, try focusing on specific topics for brownbag lunches with your team members. For example, if
you want to encourage your agents to package literary
and academic tours perhaps targeting retired professors, you may suggest reviewing categories MLI
(Museums-Literary Interest), MLP (Museums-Literary
persons), or MFA (Fine Art Museums). Another possibility is WorldBrowsers extensive listings of sports and adventure categories: ADV (adventure), AES (aerial
Sports), ASV (athletic venues and related-museums),
MTN (mountaineering), WSP (watersports), SKI (skiing),
SRF (surfing), and ZIP (zip-lining). See how many more
you can find in your categories list, a guide unmatched in
this industry to your travel professionals global inventory.
All of the foregoing should lead you to the importance of understanding the depth, breadth, and variety of
your inventory, and where to find easily what interests
your clients most.
