INTRODUCTION

CHAPTER I

On-the-job training (OTJ) is a form of training taking place in a normal working situation.

On-the-job training, sometimes called direct instruction, is one of the earliest forms of training

(observational learning is probably the earliest). It is a one-on-one training located at the job site, where

someone who knows how to do a task shows another how to perform it. In antiquity, the kind of work that

people did was mainly unskilled or semiskilled work that did not require specialized knowledge. Parents or

other community members, who knew how to do a job necessary for survival, passed their knowledge on

to the children through direct instruction.

Sales Rain, Inc. is a Sales and Marketing, M&A and private investment International call center; a

multinational company with headquarters in Los Angeles and offices in San Diego, California , USA with

BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY

History

Sales Rain was founded by Rajeev Agarwal and Parvez Khan in 2004 in Los Angeles, California,

as an international call center. It was in the same year that Sales Rain formed their first call center in India

which specialized in the telecom industry. With its expanding operations, the company grew from 90 seats

to 250 seats providing highly successful campaigns in sales and telemarketing.

The strong demand for outsourcing services in the Philippines gave Sales Rain the advantage to

widen

its

opportunities

and

What I have learned?

CHAPTER III

In working your profession there’s a lot of things to learn and on way to learn it is being employed

and as a student having an internship or we call on-the-job training is one way to experience of being

employed and applying what you learned during your College days.

As my internship started as an assistant network administrator my theoretical lessons also started

to brighten up. I started to learn the jobs related to Information Technology and that is being a Network

Administrator.

A

network administrator is an individual that is responsible for the maintenance of computer

and

software

systems

that

Network administrators are generally mid-level support staff within an organization and do not

typically get involved directly with users. Network administrators focus on network components within a

company's LAN/WAN infrastructure ensuring integrity. Depending on the company and its size, the

network administrator may also design and deploy networks.

The actual role of the network administrator will vary from place to place, but will commonly include

activities

and

tasks

such

as

assignment,

management

and

implementation

of routing protocols such as ISIS, OSPF, BGP, routing table configurations and certain implementations of

authentication (e.g.: challenge response, etc.). It can also include

CHAPTER V

On the job training is very exciting and challenging you will gain more knowledge and experience on the field you are working with yet there as I experience being an intern there are some things I would recommend for the next intern.

Sales Rain BPO Inc. is a Business Process Outsourcing and most of the employees here are Call Center Agents. There is a Control Room where IT Network Administrator and Assistant Network Administrator stays. In my experience I enjoy staying in that company because I learned about Network and heres my recommendation for next interns

Research about the company you are applying for internship.

Know what position you are getting into (for you to know if this fits your field or not)

Ask what you will do in that particular position (in order to know if you are fit to it and have an idea if youre going to like it or not).

Always record what you are doing like taking down notes for you to remember what you did in that internship, this may be useful later on.

And lastly try your best to be a good intern this is your time to show how you are dedicated to your work and if this works out and your head/s notice it this may give them a good impression to you and might you might be absorb by the company.
