APPLICATIONS DUE SEPTEMBER 15 FOR BRADY OUTREACH GRANTS Brady outreach funds are awarded for
areas including neighborhood, community, world/global, Basic Mission Finance, new church development
and ideas beyond the scope of our own church needs. Requests are not limited to
church-related projects but are considered for humanitarian efforts and outreach as well. Groups should
not apply for funding that will be used for institutional sustainment (salaries, rent, etc.) but rather for specific, preferably new, needs/projects within the organization. In the second quarter of this year, we were
able to award grants to Los Artes for student needs, First Christian Church to assist with their retiling needs
for their narthex, and for the maternal and child facility being built at the hospital in Mungali, India.
Applications are available in the church office for the third quarter grants and should be returned
by September 15 for consideration. Questions may be directed to Sharon Jensen, Chair, at
ss.jensen57@gmail.com
BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK is so grateful to Saguaro Christian Church for the $4,000 check for our program. Their commitment to feeding children for the week-end is greatly appreciated. Other gifts include
500 packed bags from BNYMellon Bank and 800 packed bags from The Arizona Association of the School of
Business. Four hundred of those bags were given to New Spirit Lutheran Church who services Steele
School. Thanks to Bill Robey and Brian Rudiger who helped to unload the truck and took the tubs to the
backpack room. School starts for TUSD on August 4th, and we will have our first packing/delivery day on
August 17th. At the end of last year, we were filling 150 bags for Bloom Elementary and Sewell Elementary
Schools. It starts off slow with the number of children, but picks up steadily as the year goes on. Thanks so
much to Saguaro Christian Church for their support for helping hungry children.
