Top Ten Computer Science Careers

I am going to research the top careers a person can gain with a computer science degree.
Introduction
I am going to list the top careers in the computer sciences. They will be listed by the
number of jobs in that field in the U.S. and by salary. The source material will be researched on
the internet.
Top Tech Jobs in Demand:
In an article on Modis the jobs with the highest growth in IT expected by 2022 are: Jobs in
the healthcare IT field with a total worth of $56 billion. The jobs with the highest expected
growth are, Security Analysts with 37% growth, Systems Analysts with 25% growth, Software
development with 22% expected growth, Web Development with 20% growth, Project
Development with 15% expected growth1.
An article posted in April 2015 on ITcareerfinder.com has a list by 10 year growth potential.
The top jobs in their list are: Mobile Application Developer 32% growth potential, Database
Administrator 31% growth potential, Software Engineer 30% growth potential, Video Game
Designer 30% growth potential, Network Administrator 28% growth potential, IT Security
Specialist 22% growth potential, Computer Systems Analyst 22% growth potential, Web
Developer 22% growth potential, Health Information Technician 21% growth potential and
Technology Manager with a 18% growth potential2.

Geekwire.com took data from Glassdoor.com and compiled a list of the all the top jobs
ranked by salary. The computer science careers in the list along with their ranking on the list are
as follows:
Software Architect at number 3 on the list with an average salary of $130,891, number 4
Software Development Manager at $123,747, number 6 Solutions Architect at $121,522, IT
Manager number 9 at $115,642, Data Scientist is number 15 at $105,305, Computer Hardware
Engineer is ranked number 18 with a salary of $101,154. Eleven of the twenty-five job in their
list were in the IT or computer sciences fields3.
In conclusion there are many careers in the computer sciences that have high growth
potential along with above average salaries. Growth is expected continue for the foreseeable
future. If you like to build things then maybe networking is for you. If you like to solve problems
then maybe an IT service desk could be what you are looking for. If you like dealing with the
coding aspects then you can work in programming. Employers are looking for individuals with
these kind of skills. When deciding on a career a career in the computer sciences is a great
place to start.
