How to Configure Report Subscriptions in SQL Reporting


Services
Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3
Report subscriptions in SQL Reporting Services enable you to configure the automatic delivery of specified reports by email or to a file share at scheduled intervals.
Use the Create Subscription Wizard in Configuration Manager 2007 R2 SQL Reporting Services to configure report subscriptions.
You can also configure other types of report subscriptions, such as datadriven subscriptions from the Web interface included with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting
Services. For more information, see your SQL Server documentation.
Important
To configure reports to be delivered by email, you must configure the item Email Settings in SQL Reporting Services Configuration Manager. For more
information, see How to Configure Microsoft SQL Server for SQL Reporting Services.

Note
The information in this topicapplies only to Configuration Manager2007R2 and Configuration Manager2007R3.

To configure a subscription to deliver a report by email


1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting /
Reporting Services / <Report Server Name>, and expand the node.
2. In the results pane, rightclick a report and then click New Subscription.
3. On the Subscription Delivery page of the Create Subscription Wizard, specify the delivery properties for this report subscription. From the Report
delivered by dropdown list, select Email. For more details about the options on this page, see Report Subscription Dialog Box: Subscription Delivery Tab.
4. Click Next to continue.
5. On the Subscription Schedule page of the Create Subscription Wizard, configure the schedule by which the report will be generated and delivered. For
more details about the options on this page, see Report Subscription Dialog Box: Subscription Schedule Tab.
6. Click Next to continue.
7. On the Subscription Parameters page of the Create Subscription Wizard, specify any parameters that this report needs to run. For more details about the
options on this page, see Report Subscription Dialog Box: Subscription Parameters Tab.
8. Click Next to continue.
9. On the Summary page of the Create Subscription Wizard, review the subscription that will be created and then click Next.
10. On the Confirmation page of the Create Subscription Wizard, review the actions taken and then click Close to exit the wizard.

To configure a subscription to deliver a report to a file share


1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Reporting /
Reporting Services / <Report Server Name>, and expand the node.
2. In the results pane, rightclick a report and then click New Subscription.
3. On the Subscription Delivery page of the Create Subscription Wizard, specify the delivery properties for this report subscription. From the Report
delivered by dropdown list, select Windows File Share. For more details about the options on this page, see Report Subscription Dialog Box: Subscription
Delivery Tab.
4. Click Next to continue.
5. On the Subscription Schedule page of the Create Subscription Wizard, configure the schedule by which the report will be generated and delivered to the

6. Click Next to continue.
7. On the Subscription Parameters page of the Create Subscription Wizard, specify any parameters that this report needs to run. For more details about the
