Socorro, Surigao del Norte
City Councilors and Staffs
October 6-9, 2015

II Rationale:
On the other side of the surfing haven Siargao lies the town of Socorro in
Surigao del Norte, home to the Bucas Grande Islands also known as the Sohoton
Cove National Park. The group of islands is blessed with numerous caves, some still
undiscovered, white sand beaches, waterfalls, mangroves, iron woods, inland lakes,
vast fishing grounds, and wonderful corals which are carefully preserved by the
municipality as the rich biodiversity of their place attracts and seemingly enchants
tourists to visit and enjoy the solitude of the sanctuary. In the rapid growth of
technology and industrialization, effective environment preservation should be
highly considered to conserve the beauty of nature which can eventually contribute
in the tourism aspect of the country.
Since Tagum City is known to be one of the advocates of a clean and green
community, the City Government of Tagum through the participation of the different
offices of the Legislative Branch is always open to grasp new ideas and adoptable
strategies to continually preserve the citys environment despite the inevitable
increase of its inhabitants and the growth of different industries, promote awareness
in environment conservation to its constituents, and to maximize the tourism
feature of Tagum City. Hence, this design;
III Objectives of the Activity:
To keep the councils energy high level and their minds alert; and,
To provide effective and efficient public service.
IV Methodology:
1. Courtesy call with the Office of the Mayor;
2. Coordination with the Environment and the Tourism Management Team of
Socorro;
3. Planning and Research
V Budgetary Requirements:
VI Expected Output:
