Lesson Summary
(include student role,
issue, problem or
challenge, action taken,
and purpose/beneficiary)

Through a process of online research, reflection and application students, in collaborative groups, construct a
short How to Collaborate manual using a digital platform of their choosing. Their co-created manual will be
posted and used as a platform to reflect on the working dynamics of the team which will, in turn, be posted to
their group BLOG accompanied by a plan of action when issues arise.

Driving Question

What are the attributes of a successful team and how can we better implement them towards a common goal?

Entry Event

Individually students will be tasked with reflecting on the collaborative process thus far, posting their response to
their individual BLOG. What is working for the group and maybe more importantly what is not? From there the
class will pivot towards the first iteration of the Marshmallow Challenge, after which there will be a whole class
debrief attempting to uncover what made some groups successful and others not. Students will then view Tom
Wujecs Tedtalk concerning his take-ways from the Marshmallow Challenge.
