Welcome to Chemistry!
This course is an introduction to
chemistry including properties of matter,
structure of atoms, bonding, chemical
names and formulas, chemical reactions,
and calculations involving chemical
reactions. Special topics will include
states of matter, gas laws, acids and
bases, and solution chemistry. The
scientific method and problem solving
techniques will be emphasized
throughout the year.

Note: I reserve the right to add or modify this scale
if it will improve the effectiveness of the class.

Plagiarism & Cheating

Presenting someone elses
work as ones own in order to
obtain a grade or credit is
considered cheating. This
includes, but is not limited to,
copying others assignments,
quizzes, or test answers;
plagiarism; or allowing others
to copy writing or quiz or test
answers. Students who violate
this policy will receive zero
credit for the assignment or
work involved. Repeat offenses
will result in further disciplinary
actions.

Lab Safety
Follow the rules & read all
lab handouts
If you are playing around in
the lab, you will be dismissed
and receive a zero for the lab
I will send reminders (from
Remind101) the evening
before a lab!
Labs are fun & I want to do a
lot of them! So, follow the
rules, there is always a less
fun alternative to labs

Homework Policies

absent.
*Make Up Work for
each day absent, if it
is an excused
absence, you will be
given one day to
make up any missed
work.

*Life Happens If you are

having issues at school or at
home, have a huge exam
coming up, or realize you
need more time to complete
your absolute best work for
any other reason, e-mail me
and request an extension.
You must come talk to me or
e-mail me the day before for
the extension to be granted.
You cannot come in 5
minutes before class without
your assignment and expect
an extension.
