EDCEP 816 Research Methods in Education

Description of Course
EDCEP 816 Research Methods in Education was a course designed to provide an
overview of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods in education.
Students completed a variety of different types of assignments; include quizzes,
critiques, discussions and other written assignments.
Professional Review
The course gave me an overview of the different types of research and how to step
up a research project. It was interesting to read and discuss the different types of
research from the beginning to end. I have never done a research project with
conducting actual interviews or surveys, so learning about everything that goes into
a project, from the little things like how to gather data, to bigger issues like what
type of research to conduct and the types of samplings needed.
It has been several years since I completed this class, but I gained important
knowledge about research that I continue to use today when review data and
questions that I ask about how the research was conducted.
