{Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave their pledge to you (O
Muhammad) under the tree, He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down
As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquility) upon them, and He rewarded them with a
near victory.}
[Surah al-Fath 48:18]

{Verily, We have given you (O Muhammad) a manifest victory.}

[Surah al-Fath 48:1]

WHAT HAPPENED?

GEMS FROM THE COMPANIONS

(may Allah be pleased with them)
Jabir said, On the day of Al-Hudaybiyah,
Allahs Messenger (salla Allahu alayhi wa
sallam) said to us: You are the best
people on the earth!
[Sahih Bukhari]

When the writing of the peace treaty was

concluded, the Prophet said to his
Companions, Get up and slaughter your
sacrifices and get your head shaved. By
Allah none of them got up, and the
Prophet repeated the order three times.
When none of them got up, he went to
Umm Salamah and told her of the peoples
attitude towards him. Umm Salamah said,
Oh Prophet of Allah, do you want your
order to be carried out? Go out and do not
say a word to anybody until you have
slaughtered your sacrifice and called your
barber to shave your head. So the Prophet
went out and did not talk to anyone until
he had done that. Seeing that, the
Companions of the Prophet got up,
slaughtered their sacrifices and started
shaving each others head.

Jabir narrated, On the day of AlHudaybiyah, all people felt thirsty and
Allahs Messenger (salla Allahu alayhi wa
sallam) had a utensil containing water. He
performed ablution from it and then the
people came towards him. Allahs
Messenger said: What is wrong with you?
The people said, We havent got any water
to perform ablution with or to drink,
except what you have in your utensil. So
the Prophet put his hand in the utensil and
water started gushing out between his
fingers like springs. So we drank and
performed ablution. I said to Jabir,
What was your number on that day? He
replied, Even if we had been one hundred
thousand, that water would have been
sufficient for us. Anyhow, we were 1500.
[Sahih Bukhari]

Urwah ibn Masood was one of the Qurayshi

Messengers sent to the Muslims. After meeting the Prophet,
he returned to his people and said: O people! By Allah, I have been
to kings and to Chosroes, Caesar and Najashi, yet I have never seen
any of them respected by his courtiers as Muhammad is respected
by his Companions. By Allah, if he spits, the spit falls is to the hand
of one of them who would rub it on his face and skin; if he performs
ablution, they struggle to take the remaining water; and when they
speak they lower their voices and do not look at his face constantly
out of respect.
