As the marketing department of the Arture we are concerned on the advertising and
retainment of our image Architect of the future, driving business and increasing
sales.

Introduction - Marketing Department


Marketing is the most vital part of any business activity and the heart of the business lies in
its efficiency of marketing. The most successful aspect depend on the successful marketing.

This basically creates customers and generates income, leads the future path of the business
and determines whether the business will be a success or failure. In the absence of marketing,
a business is like concerned in the dark and expecting business to succeed in the market
place. Therefore, it is understandable that any type of business despite its size, nature and the
market it operates, a dedicated marketing department is essential to the overall success of the
organisation. Hence, Marketing department can be considered as one of the most important
and fundamental department among all the other department of the organisation as it has the
ability to determine the sustainability and profitability that is required to be successful in the
market place.
The marketing department of Arture has always displayed a tremendous support and
exceptional performance among other department contributing immensely to the overall
success of the Arture. The marketing department of Arture has undertaken wide range of
responsibility where each member has contributed exceptionally towards the effective
performance and success of the department. The marketing team has utilized the knowledge
that has been obtained from the marketing module and the guidance of the supervisor in
performing the assigned roles and responsibilities in an effective manner. In overall, it is
evident that the marketing department of Arture has effectively performed which ensured the
profitability of the organisation. Therefore, it is understandable that Marketing Division is
indispensible to the success of the Arture.

Marketing Plan SPLASH

SPLASH Festival of Colours, is a HOLI festival organized by Arture on 28 th May 2016 at


Dehiwala YMCA from 10 am to 4 pm. The event was incorporated with plenty of fun

activities and games that kept the participants energetic and entertained throughout the event.
The event was marked by students of ICBT, students from other private and public
institutions, general public and the staff and management of ICBT. The event was sponsored
by Visgha (Platinum Sponsor) and ARMCO (Silver Sponsor). More importantly, the event
was marked by nearly 200 people, which turned SPLASH a surrounding success.
The Benefits or Privileges given to the Sponsors
Platinum Sponsorship Visgha Enterprises
1. The organisation name and logo will be represented on all marketing and promotional
materials including the official event Facebook page.
2. A private stall at the event will be allocated exclusively for the Platinum Sponsors and
representatives of the Organisation for the purpose of promotion.
3. The organisation is permitted to circulate their promotional materials in the entrance.
4. Opportunities are available to display 3 banners of the organisation in the event
premises.
5. The hotlink of the organisations website will be carried on in all the E-promotional
activities.
6. The organisation will be prominently recognised as the Platinum Sponsor and
announced throughout the event.
7. The organisation will be acknowledged for the Platinum Sponsorship in all media
releases.
8. The organisation is entitled for 2 free tickets to enter the Splash- Festival of Colours
event.

Gold Sponsorship - ARMCO Pvt. Ltd


1. A stall at the event will be allocated exclusively for the Gold Sponsors and
representatives of the Organisation for the purpose of promotion.
2. Opportunities are available to display 2 banners of the organisation in the event
premises

3. The organisation will be recognised as the Gold Sponsor and announced throughout
the event.
4. The organisation is entitled for 2 free tickets to enter the Splash- Festival of Colours
event.
The Marketing department has ensured that our valuable sponsors have received and
facilitated through the above mentioned privileges offered to their generous contributions. We
firmly believe SPLASH- Festival of Colours would have been a great platform to create
product awareness and brand image of their organisation.

Marketing Strategies for SPLASH - Festival of Colours

This discusses about the market segmentation, target market, positioning strategies practiced
by marketing department of Arture for the event of SPLAS Festival of Colours.
Market Segmentation
The Market segment that is primarily focused is the youth, as the department believed that
young people has the more tendency towards the events of entertainment.
Target Market
The Department targeted the students of ICBT Campus primarily whereas the students of
other private institution and general public are also considered as the target market for
SPLASH.
Positioning Strategy
1. Price The tickets are decided to be priced at Rs. 400 in consideration of all the
facilities offered and cost involved in the event.
2. Place YMCA Dehiwala is the place selected to host the event SLASH.
3. Promotion The Department had been using variety of promotional tools from the
initial da to the event day. At the initial stage, a poster stating Coming Soon posters
were displayed to create a hype among the students meanwhile Social Media

Promotions (Facebook) were updated and promoted in regular intervals maintaining
the interest of students about the event.
Thereafter, the posters with full information were displayed in the notice boards,
canteen and elevators in a way that attracts the students and staff of ICBT Campus.
More importantly, a promotional day was organized where the entire employees of
Arture has been dived into teams and sent to specific classes to address the students
regarding the event. The promotional day was carried with along the promotional
video and informing the students about the event. The students are encouraged and
given an opportunity to make partial payments and reserve the tickets where they can
purchase the ticket on the payment of full price of the ticket.
At the later part, the posters of SPLASH have been placed as the wallpaper of the
desktops of the ICBT Campus which enabled to reach the potential customers easily
and quickly.
In addition, the posters that include all the information have been circulated among
the students, staff and management of ICBT through the E-mail data base available
with the ICBT Campus.
4. Product The entrance ticket for the event is considered as the Product of SPLASH

Sales Strategy
The department believed that personal selling is the most appropriate method of promotion in
consideration to other promotional tools, as personal selling penetrates the most number of
customers to the event SPLASH. All the employees are given individual targets and deadlines
to achieve the assigned tasks. The progress of the ticket sales were regularly monitored,
where the entire organisation was able to achieve the expected amount of ticket sales
eventually.

The Problems that Marketing Department faced in promoting SPLASH


1. Selling tickets to the part time batches and other campuses of ICBT was difficult
attributed to the time constrains.
2. The unfavorable weather (Flood) hinders the amount of ticket sales.
3. It was difficult to achieve the expected amount of ticket sales before the deadline that has
been planned by the top management.
4. Less willingness to purchase tickets for the price of Rs. 400
5. The public holidays and leaves given by the college negatively affected the sales of the
tickets.
6. Irregular attendance of employees of the Arture made difficult to track the progress of
ticket sales.
7. Inadequate financial resources to execute attractive marketing promotions confined the
promotional and advertising activities.

Solutions for the problems incorporated in SPLASH


1. The marketing department planned to start the tickets sales 3 weeks before the event,
which eased to approach several full time, pat time students and students of other
institutions.
2. The employees were regularly monitored through phone calls and whatsapp messages and
kept on updating regarding the sales of the tickets.
3. The students are educated and informed about the purpose of the project and elaborated
the features and benefits sought of the events that helped to convince to purchase the
tickets.
4. Students were approached through diversified channels such as Facebook, Emails,
Whatsapp and telephone call instead of depending on one particular mode of
communication/approach.
5. The organisation received fairly good amount of sponsors who assisted in financing all
the major activities of the marketing promotions and advertisements.

Marketing Summary
The Leadership and Business Development started on end of April, where each individual
from the marketing department of Arture cooperated to plan and organize the events and the
systems that can be utilized by the division to accomplish its objectives while planning in
collaboration with other departments. The marketing team was effective and efficient when it
came to work and every member discussed and shared their opinions in regard of marketing
activities. During all of the meeting, marketing department was much empowered and very
corporative which provided valuable insights to the organisation.
During each of the brain storming session, different people listed different event and the
marketing department discussed how marketing can be done and if its possible to targets
large crowd. The marketing department coordination and communication with the rest of the
department was very effective as all the goals and aims that were set achieved by careful
planning. So under planning risk analysis and risk a version was prepared on the short listed
event which was prepared to understand the means to society and the constraints that the
organization has deal with when they are doing a charitable event or marketing.
After the arrangement and advancements of the plans, next the marketing division arranged a
period graph on when promoting need to begin which demonstrates points of interest on how
the marketing department is going to market its occasion until the start of the event.

during vacations to make mindfulness and the ticket selling was began from May 16 th as to
our headliner the "Splash" ( the celebration of colors). The coordination and timing was based

To be effective in this role, you will need a relevant bachelors degree
combined with a minimum of one years of marketing experience. You will
need prior experience with e-commerce and digital marketing and solid
experience in branded marketing communications including company
websites, print communications and advertising. You will be an excellent
communicator with strong professional writing capability. Prior experience
in executing marketing campaigns and managing web development
