Amigurumi Cat

Difficulty: beginner
Materials needed:
Medium 4 size yarn, small quantities of yarn are needed for colorA and
colorB, this is a great stash buster!
Poly-Fil or similar stuffing material
Two buttons
Some black yarn for sewing buttons and embroidering nose
Hooks: size G/4mm or smaller
Darning or tapestry needle

Gauge
Not important, use a smaller hook than recommended for your type of
yarn to ensure stuffing doesn't show through when finished.

alternatively, chain 2, place stitches in second ch from hook
single crochet
ideally, replace with invisible decrease (insert hook in front
loop of first stitch, angle hook back down and insert in
front loop of second stitch, yarn over, pull through both
front loops, yarn over, pull through both loops on hook)

Now use black yarn to sew on buttons as eyes, one in colorB patch,
the other next to it. Use same yarn to embroider nose between the
eyes. Secure sewing yarn.
Stuff the body of the cat with polyfil (or similar material).
13. *sc2tog in first two sc, 1sc in next sc*, repeat * to * around (12)
14. sc2tog around (6)
Now fasten off your yarn and thread it into the darning/yarn
needle. Pull yarn through front loop of first sc, from the outside to
the inside, repeat with each sc around. Then pull on your yarn to
close the remaining hole and feel the needle through the centre of
the hole and through the side of the body, pull tight, secure yarn,
cut tail.

with colorB, 6sc in ring

fasten off, leave a longer tail for sewing. Make 2, stuff lightly and sew
onto the front of the cat's body.

Hind Legs
Yarn: colorA & colorB

Hook: G/4mm

with colorB, 6sc in ring

switch to colorA, cut and secure colorB, 1sc in ea sc around (12)

*sc2tog (invisible decrease!) in first two sc, 1sc in next*, repeat * to *

fasten off, leave a longer tail for sewing. Make 2, stuff lightly and sew
onto the back of the cat's body, pointing outward.

Repeat round 12 as often as desired, at least 10 times.
Fasten off, leave a longer tail for sewing. Use same method as on body to
