WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 103-105; 1 Corinthians 11
Wednesday, August 17

2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him.

Luke 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the
deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Rom. 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the
works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Lord, forgive my sins for the sake of the love you bear for your Son Jesus,
and for the sake of the love your Son bears to you. Do it for the sake of his
humiliation, when he took-on flesh himself, that he might look like a sinner and
be made my sacrifice, though he himself was free from all sin. Do it for the
sake of his perfect but painful obedience in all things, which gave complete honor
to your law. Do it for the sake of the curse he bore and the death he suffered,
which has glorified your authority, and honored your justice more than my sins
ever offended them, and much more than my self-righteousness ever could.
Remember his dying groans. Remember his agonies when the hour, and the
power of darkness was upon him. So let not the powers of darkness prevail over me,
since I trust in him. Remember the day you stood afar off from your Son, and he
cried as one forsaken by God. Let me have your everlasting presence with me
and never let me be forsaken by you, since your Son bore that grief for me.
Again, I plead the intercession of Jesus my High Priest above. Lord I would
ask you for nothing less than what Jesus is already asking on my behalf. I would
willingly request for the souls of __________ and __________ in salvation!
Look only on the Lamb, as he had been slain, in the midst of the throne. Look on his
pure and perfect righteousness Lord, and not on my wickedness. Look on that
blood, with which my High Priest entered into the highest heaven. Bestow
every blessing on me that his finished work purchased, and the great and infinite
Petitioner pleads for, at your right hand of power and skill! What can you deny
your Son? He told us you hear him always. For the sake of the Son of your love,
deny me not grace to witness this week, even during Outreach August. Amen.

Lord, Master and Savior:

Getting saved is a divine action, but if people are going to be presented the
gospel and won to Christ, it always takes some kind of human involvement. This
catch of fish was spectacular, but the fishermen, tackle, and boat were not
ignored. In the saving of spiritual souls you still use saved minds and mouths!
1 Cor. 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it
pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
When you work without human intervention you are glorified, but you have
chosen me, even me! to reach __________ and __________, or someone else at
our outreach, because then you are more magnified.
Luke 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night,
and have taken nothing:
Instruments alone are useless. Were they not fishermen? Did they not
understand their job? Were they unskilled or lazy? Did they lack any initiative?
No, they toiled. Did they not persevere? Yes, for they worked all the night. Was there
a lack of fish in the sea of Galilee? No, because as soon as you got involved,
Nemo and all his friends came and were caught! But there is no power in the
instruments themselves apart from you. That is why I cry out to you now.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the
same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Lord, send me soul-fishing this week! Let it be said,
Num. 23:21 The LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among
them.

Oh Lord:
Some duties arise out of the lateness of the hour. Wake me, Lord from the
sleep of apathy and the coma of inactivity. Let not my Christianity be Dead
Sea, and consist only in receiving, and never doing. Help me Holy Spirit, to both
gird-up my loins and to yield my body to you as a living sacrifice!
Revival will let me leave apathy and lethargy behind. Morning is coming; I
need to be ready. It is high time I awoke out of half-heartedness. Jesus! It is
time to stop dreaming. Help me live for eternal realities that are present even
today. Help me put-out all power, pull-out all stops, and waken all energy for you.
After I wake up I need to throw off my pajamas. I need to put off
everything that once covered me when I was in darkness. I need to undress so I
can start to dress-up. I have so many sins and foolish habits that need to be
thrown off. I cannot profess to be saved just by putting new religion over my old
nature. No. I have to cast-off the sinner before I can call myself a saint!
I still have too many rags of corruption rotting under my raiment of
profession. Lord, you did not come to save me in my sins, but from my sins! I
cannot believe in Christ and continue an unclean life. Give me holiness by your
Holy Spirit in revival! I will have no victory unless you give me more grace! Take
away the love of sin so I can put on the robe of Christ.
The danger is not overI need my armor. Darkness is departing, but I still
need my armor. The sooner I wake up, the more I need my armor, for the day of
battle is come. Dress me according to what I will meet with today! I am not home
yet. Revive me even in enemy territory because Jesus has won it for me. Amen.

Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

I AM resolved no longer to linger, charmed by the worlds delight,

Things that are higher, things that are nobler, these have allured my sight.
I am resolved to go to the Savior, leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One, He hath the words of life.
I am resolved to follow the Savior, faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth, He is the living Way.
I am resolved to enter the kingdom leaving the paths of sin;
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me, still will I enter in.
I am resolved, and who will go with me? Come, friends, without delay,
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit, well walk the heavnly way.
I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
Palmer Hartsough, 1896

Matt. 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Great and Glorious Father of Love:
Bless our church. Give us more faith. Salt our prayers with faith. When our
pastors preach, let them preach in faith. May all that is done in our fellowship be
done by unity in Christ and simple confidence in God.
We know if we do not believe we will never be stable. (Hello somebody!)
We can expect to see no result from our ministries unless it is done in faith. Give
the hundreds of members of our church the childlike simplicity that never thinks
about doubting God. Help us go forward, with all weaknesses made strong by the
strength of Jesus Christ.
Give a blessing to the missionaries we support abroad. Give us growth in
our spiritual lives. Lift us to a higher level. Bring us out of the mists of doubt and
fear, to climb the heights of our security in Christ and oneness with him. Grant
this faith to our entire church body!
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith
of Gods elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
We talk about the lost and how they need faith, but the lost will be brought
in, and people will be saved, when we Christians believe our God more! Make us
in this church believe you more. Your Purpose will be accomplished and your
glory made visible to the community as soon as we have the confidence we ought
to have in you. You are worthy. You ought to be trusted. We ought to be moving
forward in fulfilling your Eternal Purpose.
Accept this feeble request by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Send a shower of revival in our midst. Let us give more glory to you, and never
be distrustful in any painful circumstance. To Jesus glory we ask this. Amen.

Psa. 111:4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is
gracious and full of compassion.
Gracious God and Holy Savior:
Your works are worthy of my research. They yield a wonderful blend of
instruction and pleasure that is worth the investigation. Your hidden wisdom is
the best part of your working, so those who do not look below the surface
miss most of what you long to teach.
Because your works are so great I cannot understand them all at once, but
can only comprehend them after careful examination. It is good that my King
James Bible cannot be understood at a glance, because the search into your
words mysteries is as useful as the knowledge I get from it.
Psa. 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding
have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
To know you so as to walk rightly before you is the greatest of all applied
sciences. Fear of you (holy reverence with hatred of sin) leads me to praise you,
and this is a wise act for any creature toward his Creator.
I may think I am wise, but only obedience proves sound judgment. If I
do not obey you I am not smart, no matter what IQ or education I might have.
Only fools justify their rebellion.
Practical godliness is the best test of wisdom. Some people are very
orthodox and eloquent, others very spiritual and emotional. But the best proof of
real intelligence is found in actually doing your will.
My praises will never stop, because your works always move me to more
adoration. Lord, help me study your works, and breathe-out hallelujahs as long as
I am alive. Amen.

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
