System Description

HANDS-FREE PHONE SYSTEM


For Hands-free phone system operation information, refer to Owner's Manual.
TEL adapter unit has Bluetooth module. It can perform wireless hands-free telephone calls using a cellular
phone in vehicle compartment.
Hands-free phone mode starts by transmitting remote control signal to TEL adapter unit when pressing
button.
Hands-free phone mode ends by transmitting remote control signal to TEL adapter unit when pressing
button.
When uttering to the TEL microphone, TEL microphone signal (audio signal) is transmitted from the TEL
microphone to the TEL adapter unit and transmitted to the cellular phone with the Bluetooth communication.
Audio signals from a party at the other end are transmitted from the cellular phone to the TEL adapter unit
with the Bluetooth communication, and transmitted from the TEL adapter unit to the audio unit, then the
party's voice is output from the front door speaker.
TEL adapter unit has the on board self-diagnosis function. Refer to AV-21, "Self-Diagnosis Function".

Self-Diagnosis Function

HANDS FREE PHONE SYSTEM ON BOARD DIAGNOSIS


During on board diagnosis the diagnosis function of TEL adapter unit starts with the operation of the steering
switch and performs the diagnosis.

Error history

Guides the error system and history with voice guidance.

Software version

Guides the software version of TEL adapter unit with voice guidance.

TEL microphone test

Inputs the voice spoken into the TEL microphone to the speaker, and checks the microphone
function.

Bluetooth test

Checks the wireless communication status by searching Bluetooth device with TEL adapter
unit, and guides the result with voice guidance.

Vehicle speed signal test

Checks the input status of the vehicle speed signal and guides the result with voice guidance.

Steering switch test

Checks the input condition of the steering switch, and guides the result with voice guidance.

Error history erase

Erases the error history.
