REVISED HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY

This section deals with the statement of research Hypothesis that is being developed from the objectives of the research. The research
hypothesis that the researcher is going to take will decide the principal flow of his research and it will suggest various observations
and experiments. The impact of Foreign Capital Flow in the form of FDI on Indian Economy can be positive or can be negative.
Without finding out the result it is very difficult to analyse how far FDI had impacted the economy. To establish the FDI has an impact
on Indian economy the researcher has to carry out the hypothesis and it has to establish whether these hypothesis are correct or not.
The hypothesis taken in this research is divided into two main parts 1. Primary Hypothesis and 2. Secondary Hypothesis. The
Secondary hypotheses are taken to substantiate the primary hypothesis. The primary hypothesis is derived from the fact that the Real
GDP, Money Supply, Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, Consumer Confidence, Employment level, increase in foreign
reserve, Retail numbers, capital inflow, Housing Starts, Manufacturing and Trade Inventories and Sales and performance stock index
are twelve primary indicators of Economic Development of a country. If the above 12 indicators perform positively then we can say
that the economy of a country is doing well or vice versa.
Further to carry on the research the researcher has taken following hypothesis divided on two heads i.e. primary hypothesis and
secondary hypothesis:
PRIMARY HYPOTHESIS:
Ho: FCI in the form of FDI in retail has a positive impact on the Indian Economy.
Ha: FCI in the form of FDI in retail has a negative impact on the Indian Economy.
SECONDARY HYPOTHESIS
1. Ho: Allowing FDI in Multi brand retailing will have greater impact on the increase in the flow of Foreign Capital in India.
Ha: Allowing FDI in Multi brand retailing will not have greater impact on the increase in the flow of Foreign Capital in India.
2. Ho: Allowing FDI in multi brand retail will increase the employment rate
Ha: Allowing FDI in multi brand retail will decrease the employment rate
3. Ho: Allowing FDI in multi brand retail will give better value and more opportunities to the end Indian consumers.
Ha: Allowing FDI in multi brand retail will not give better value and more opportunities to the end Indian consumers.
4. Ho: FDI in Retail has increased the consumers Buying Habits
Ha: FDI in Retail has not increased the consumers Buying Habits
5. Ho: FDI in Retail has brought Boom in infrastructure and commercial real estate in India
Ha: FDI in Retail has not brought Boom in infrastructure and commercial real estate in India
6. Ho: FDI in Retail has brought Change in business models of unorganized retailers by increasing their income
Ha: FDI in Retail has not brought any change in business models of unorganized retailers by increasing their income
7. Ho: FDI in Retail has increased the level of productivity in packaging industry and food processing industry
