Crochet Border #1 for Tag

To make these tags you will need:


Card stock or heavy scrap book paper cut 4-1/4” by 3-1/4”

An awl or a sharp needle to punch paper

A needle with a large eye (Tapestry needle)

Sport weight yarn

A crochet hook size C (2.5 mm) or E (3.5 mm)

Graph paper was used to punch 12 holes at the bottom of the tag.

The following pictures are from other


projects and are used for illustration
purposes.

Create a blanket stitch border using these


12 holes.

This picture illustrates the blanket stitch. You will be


inserting the crochet hook in each space to create the stitches.
There should be eleven spaces.

The Pattern for Border #1


Chain 1, 3 double crochet in first space, slip 1 stitch in next
space *(3 double crochet, slip in stitch in next space)*

Repeat from * to * to the end. Finish off by slipping the last


stitch in the last space.

*(Chain 3, single crochet in next space)* Repeat from *to* 9


more times. You will have 10 loops made.

The Pattern for Crochet Border #3

This tag was made using heavy weight scrap book paper measuring
6” by 3”. You will need to punch 11 holes using the awl or
sharp needle. Create a blanket stitch border on the bottom edge
of the tag as the previous tags.

Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet, 1 double crochet.

*(2 double crochet)* Repeat from *to* across. Fasten off and
finish by slipping last stitch at the base and hide tails on the
back side.
