Grading

BYOD

Weekly Assignments (35% of total grade):

Weekly assignments include practice exercises, sketches,
handouts and writing reflections completed in class. We use these
to develop ideas, practice techniques and prepare for using tools
and media.

ACMS is a Bring Your Own

Device school, so you will be
allowed to research artists,
collaborate with other students,
and listen to music as you work.

Each day you will also earn a grade for performance and safe
material use. Points will be deducted for misusing/wasting
materials, not participating, being disrespectful, and not being
prepared for class. Every 2 weeks daily grades will be averaged
and posted as one grade.

BYOD is not mandatory, but it will

significantly increase the amount of
resources available to you during
each project. You will only be
asked to download FREE apps.

Project Grades (65% of total grade): At the beginning of each

project I post a checklist for the unit that is also available on our
website. Project Grades include assessment of technical skill,
creativity, and concepts. Throughout each project you will receive
constant verbal feedback and reminders of all project criteria.

Texting in class is never an

appropriate use of devices,
and your phone will be turned
into the office if you are using
it for this purpose.

Make Up Work
You are not given additional
time in class to make up
missed work. If you are
absent, it is your
responsibility to come in
before or after school to
make up any assignments,
as most of our materials
cannot be taken outside of
class.
