ThesecondhomilyisslightlyoverhalfaslongasthefirstandfocusesmoreupontheroleoftheChurchandApostles.In

Althoughthethemeofstrugglesagainst"thecouncilofimpiety"(J.98)areresumed,Gregorydoesnotcontinuethetopicof

However,Stephenreceivedaheavenlyinheritanceafterundergoingsuchnoblestruggles.ToStephenallthesestonesare

AtthisjunctureGregorymentionsthethreeApostles,Peter,JamesandJohnwhoarealso"crownsoftheChurch'sglory"

GregoryprecedesatsomelengthtodescribethewitnessofeachofthesethreeApostlesafterwhichhesaysthat"Ifanyone

ThissolidaritywithmembersoftheChurchandfoundedupontheApostlesisintendedtocounterthehereticaltendenciesof
