Without it, water properties could not be

remotely sensed with any accuracy

Research Objectives
1) -Correct AVIRIS Imagery with 6SV
-Predict chl-a values and compare to in-situ
-Use constant AOD and vary aerosol models

2) -Vary AOD for each Aerosol model

- Investigate impact on chl-a retrieval error

Conclusions

6SV can be used to accurately predict chl-a

concentrations

Chl-a predictions are highly dependent on aerosol

distribution

Coastal model was most accurate on average

Chl-a retrieval error is greater when over estimating AOD

Error in ST13 chl-a is likely due to spatial AOD variability
