for Government Employees

Term of the Contest:
Deadline of submission of entries: July 16, 2012, at 5:00 PM.
Who may join the Contest:
The photography contest is open to all public servants/government employees regardless of
appointment status except employees of the Civil Service Commission and all other
government employees affiliated with the National Press Club (NPC) and Press Photographers of
the Philippines (PPP).
What to capture in your Photograph:
Photos should capture the essence of public service at its best in the Filipinos everyday life. The
same should be able to interpret the theme:
Kawani Ikaw Ay Isang Lingkod Bayani!
What Photo should be submitted:
Photographs must have been recently shot (2011 onwards).
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, the photographer is responsible for securing
permission from that person or, in the case of a minor, from the subjects parent or guardian.
The following photographs are disqualified:
o Photographs that are digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered for creative purposes. Altered
Images refer to Photographs manipulated and applied with special effects (colorizing, toning,
collage, photo composites, HDR, etc.). However, minor adjustments, including sharpening,
contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable
o Photographs that have been submitted to or won in any other contests or have been published
in print or online.
o Photos that violate another persons rights, including but not limited to copyright.
o Photos which are highly immoral, relatively obscene and/or in violation of public moral and/or
public policy.
How to join the Contest:
Complete the attached entry form. Submit your entry/photograph together with the
accomplished entry form to the Civil Service Commission Central Office (CSC-CO),

Constitution Hills, Diliman, Quezon City, or to any Civil Service Regional/Field Office
(CSCROs/FOs) covering your area. For this purpose, the CSCROs/FOs shall forward all entries
received to the CSC-CO not later than July 18, 2012.
Submit your entry/photograph (only 1 entry/photograph per entrant) with the following
requirements:
1. 8R size, color print, unmounted
2. JPEG Format File with a minimum size of 1MB in a Compact Disk (CD).
All photos submitted shall become properties of the Commission.
By joining the contest, the entrant is considered to have granted the Civil Service Commission
permission or license to use the photos, along with the names of the photographers, for various
publications and marketing collaterals of the CSC, and for other purposes.
Judging:
Criteria
1. Relevance to the Theme (How well the photo interprets the theme ): 25%
2. Creativity (How the photographer showed some creative thoughts. How the subject matter is
pictured in a unique and interesting way): 25%
3. Technique (Use of elements of photography. Whether the photo showed balance in light,
focus, depth of field, etc.): 25%
4. Overall impact (Whether the photo was able to grab and hold the viewers attention. Is there a
wow factor): 25%
Screening of Entries/Photographs
Screening shall be done at the CSC-CO. Entries shall be judged by a panel composed of
representatives from partner organizations and the Commission.
The panel of judges will initially determine the top thirteen (13) entries/photographs based on
the established criteria.
The First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize winners will be chosen from the top thirteen (13)
entries/photographs.
Decision of the judges is considered final and unappealable.
Prizes and Incentives:
First Prize: Cash Prize of Twenty Thousand Pesos (P20, 000.00) and a framed Certificate
Second Prize: Cash Prize of Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) and a framed Certificate.
Third Prize: Cash Prize of Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00) and a framed Certificate.
Consolation prizes: P1,000.00 and a framed Certificate each for the other ten chosen photos.
Winning photos will be used for various publications and marketing collaterals of the CSC as

well as exhibited in selected government galleries.


As incentive to participants, all entries will have the chance to be featured, along with the
names of the photographers, in the various materials of the CSC and other government agencies.
Awarding of Prizes:
Awarding of winners will be in September 2012 (specific date and place to be announced)
within the month long celebration of the 112th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

1. The photo contest is open to all registrants (hobbyists, enthusiasts & professionals). There
must be at least ten (10) duly registered participants for the photo contest to be valid, otherwise it
shall be declared as a no contest.

2. Entries to the photo contest should only be taken during the actual Sinulog events in Cebu City
on January 08 to 18, 2015. Pictures of any Sinulog celebration or any other festivals in other
places, other dates and other venues and in previous years will be automatically disqualified.

3. Entries should be taken in jpeg large fine format only, using any type of digital cameras which
include DSLR, Point & Shoot and Phone cameras.

4. Digital enhancement after the image was taken will only be limited to cropping and minimal
adjustment, which includes adjusting the tone, contrast, color and exposure to about 25% only.
Over-processed entries will be eliminated from judging.

5. Entries should be in full color. Black and White, Sepia and the likes will be eliminated from
the judging. HDR wont be allowed.

6. Submitted entries should be the registered participants original work and taken images.

7. Maximum of two (2) entries per participant will be allowed for submission.

8. A participant can win more than once during the competition.

9. Entries should be submitted via email to bonamine.fb@gmail.com on or before 11:59PM of


January 31 2015, Saturday with at least 300kb in file size but not more than 500kb and saved on
300dpi with a cropped size of 4in x 6in.

11. All entries for submission should be accompanied by a signed undertaking which can be
downloaded here http://bit.ly/TABSinulog2015Guidelines and a scanned copy or image of the
Official Receipt of any or combine purchase of the following product worth Php 100.00:
a. Bonamine 12.5mg and / or 25mg tablet
b. Tempra Tablet 325mg and/or Tempra Forte Tablet 500mg

12. For winning entries, we will be asking for the original unedited copies for purpose of
verification that the participants followed the guidelines of the photo contest. The file / files will
also be submitted to the organizers and DOT for future use.

13. This photo contest is subject to force majeure conditions. Under such circumstances, the
organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, extend or withdraw the promotion at its sole and
absolute discretion.

14. Taisho Pharmaceuticals (Philippines), Inc. (Bonamine and Tempra brand owner), Pharmalink
, Zuellig Pharma Corporation, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) reserves the right to
publish or use any entry either winning or non-winning, for any of its advertising and
promotional efforts or purposes. The photographer will be properly credited or acknowledged on
each image used.

15. Employees of Taisho Pharmaceuticals (Philippines), Inc. (Bonamine and Tempra brand
owner), Pharmalink , Zuellig Pharma Corporation, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) and its
affiliated agencies, relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity are
disqualified to join the photo competition.

COPYRIGHT:

Photographers will retain full copyright over the submitted entries. However, they will
authorize Taisho Pharmaceuticals (Philippines), Inc. (Bonamine and Tempra brand owner),
Pharmalink , Zuellig Pharma Corporation, and the Department of Tourism (DOT) to use the
same in any promotional campaign or materials without compensation or remuneration. The
photographer will be properly credited or acknowledged on each image used.

JUDGING:

The judging will be done at the at the Taisho office in Taguig City on first week of February
2015. Check Bonamines BastaPinas facebook fan page for announcements and updates.
The decision of the judges are final and not subject to any appeal.

Top 5 prizes will receive glass plaques of recognition and all winners will received product
tokens for Bonamine and Tempra.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS & AWARDING:

Announcement of the finalists will be posted at Bonamines Facebook fan page, BastaPinas
after the judging together with the details on the date and venue of awarding of check prizes and
certificates. Finalists will be notified by the organizers to submit the needed documents (2 valid
IDs with photo) to be required by Taisho Pharmaceuticals (Philippines), Inc. in processing their
winnings (Tax-Free).
