Message From the Chapter President

Welcome to the first issue of our linkpage for this year. This publication will to give you idea of what the chapter has done for the first
quarter and what will the chapter do for the remaining time of the
year.
First, I would like to emphasize the importance of our theme, PSME
-SA: Enhancing Competencies for Global Recognition. This theme
gives a strong message to what PSME-SA will be focusing on this
year - to prepare the members for global recognition. The ASEAN
Mutual Recognition Arrangement is set on 2015, just months away, and by that time
ASEAN will be one market with the following objectives as mentioned by PRC:
Facilitate mobility of practitioners within ASEAN
Exchange information and enhance cooperation in respect of mutual recognition of
practitioners
Promote adoption of best practices on standards and qualifications
Provide opportunities for capacity building and training of practitioners
In first quarter, the PSME Middle East through the effort of our VP International Engr. Mamerto Juanite, were able to bring the Philippine Technological Council in Bahrain to conduct a writeshop seminar on ASEAN/APEC/ACPE registry. The seminar focused on the
proper application in the registry aiming to guide PSME members on becoming ASEAN
and/or APEC Engineers.
Thats just one of the programs we did in preparation for global recognition. As you go
through the pages of this publication, you will see the programs we completed and other
programs set for the coming months.
Secondly, I encourage you to join and be part of our programs. Our activities are intended
to benefit the general membership of PSME-SA. You can be part of the activities not just
as a participant but you can also contribute your expertise to the organization. Lets make
PSME-SA a sharing ground of knowledge for the benefit of the members.
Lastly, I would like to commend the effort of all the officers and members who worked
hard for a successful 1st quarter, and to our publication committee headed by our Secretary Engr. Dexter M. Dimasacat for the success of this linkpage issue.
Mabuhay ang PSME-SA!!!

Message From the Chairman

of Publication and Information Committee

It is indeed my honor to serve the membership of PSME-SA as
your Chapter Secretary and Chairman of Publication and Information Committee.
Let me first extend my sincere appreciation to those who contributed in the success of this LinkPage issue.

The PSME-SA Publication serves as the core of information of

her members. The first issue which is the LinkPage is where we
consolidated most of the recent and incoming events, seminars and activities of the
Chapter. We aim not only to feed you important information; more so, we hope that
through this we may persuade you to be more active and cooperative in every activity of
PSME-SA. Likewise we hope not only to tell different stories of success but also to uplift
your pride as a member of PSME-SA.
In the second issue of PSME-SA Publication which is the exPatsMemo, we are going to
publish Engineering Articles that are essential in improving our profession as Mechanical
engineers. We are also looking to publish an article that talks about health and wellness
and a story that touches humanity.
With this, Im asking once again for your cooperation in fulfilling these goals. Any help to
make an exceptional one will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and Regards,

Dexter M. Dimasacat
Chapter Secretary
Chairman of Publication & Information Committee
