Suspend and Hibernate was not working in my Ubuntu 11.04 and I followed the below link to fix the
issue by installing us susp .
http://

.ubuntugeek.com/fi -for-suspend-and-hibernation-problem-for-laptops.html

The commands s2ram and s2disk were working fine for me and hence I replaced the contents of hals stem-po er-suspend-linu and hal-s stem-po er-hibernate-linu as directed in the above link.
Now after my upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10, I am unable to hibernate my system. How to rectify this issue? Is
there any config file which I need to change for hibernate to function properly?

Please for hibernation problem make share your swap is mounted correctly so do this as root:)
sudo nano /etc/fstab

(you will need to enter root password) (if the /etc/fstab is openned go to the line where you can
read # swap was on /dev/.. immediatly after this line,I mean the next line ,be sure there is no
#.If there is on # starting this following line ,just erease it.like this your swap space will be active
for hibernation. after press ctrl+0 to save the changes. ctrl+x to exit)
sudo apt-get install us susp

and restart your computer
