English II World Literature

This course conducts a survey of literature from various time
periods and cultures around the world. Students will explore
short stories, poems, plays, novels, and novellas and engage
in discussions in the form of student-led Socratic Seminars.

English II Writing Lab

In this course, students will experience the joy of the writing
process over and over again while crafting a plethora of
pieces to be compiled into a writing portfolio. Students will
focus on improving their verbal and written communication
as well as their grammar and editing.

Assignments will not be accepted after the due

date. You will be given realistic deadlines and are
expected to meet them. If you need assistance
with an assignment in order to complete it by the
due date, you can send an e-mail or come by after
school for help. If you choose to not turn in an
assignment on the day it is due you will:
-Receive a zero for the assignment
-Have a student/teacher conference to discuss the
reasoning behind the unfinished work
-Have your parent or guardian contacted
-Receive DPS points

Absent Work

Practice

Your work will be waiting for you in the

absent work folder with a cover sheet
detailing the instructions and your due date,
which will differ from the rest of the class. A
zero will be placed in the grade book until
the work is turned in with a note saying that
you were absent. If you do not turn the work
in by your due date, the zero will remain.
