One of my strongest gifts is Compassion.

Psalms 145:9-"The Lord is good to

everyone. He showers compassion on all His creation." Especially when it pertains
to animals, it is my natural instinct to love on them. 1 Corinthians 16:14-"And do
everything with love." I've been around animals since I was young, it is only fitting that I
would be the animal lover that I am. Rescuing animals also came natural to me, starting with
little bugs and insects when I was little or trying to help the bird with the broken wing, or the
baby robin that fell from the nest. Then I began rescuing turtles on the streets that veered away
from the bodies of water they lived in. I didn't just help the turtle because I'd look like a "good
person," my first response was to do a great deed and save this animals' life. My kindness is
often in private with little or no audience. By that I am not discouraged because good deeds are
not the foundation of my relationship with the Lord. He sees all that I do and I do not search for
reward. 1 Timothy 5:25-"In the same way, the good deeds of some people are
obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light." With
the knowledge that I will get nothing but satisfaction from impacting the life of that living
creature or that person in need. It didn't take long for me to realize that it was God who is
putting these beautifully broken creations that He made, in my path. Romans 8:14-"For all
who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." The three kittens that I saved
from the streets in the cold winter are dear to my heart. That rescue stirred something inside me
making me realize one of the gifts God has given me. The gifts of compassion, patience and
perseverance. These small yet impacting moments that lead me to the rescues or opportunities to
lend a helping hand are truly priceless. If it's bringing that turtle back into the pond and off the
street, I have impacted their life which is just as important and worthy as yours. How can you use
that impact on the people you interact with? Ephesians 4:32- "Instead, be kind to each
other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has
forgiven you." Start with doing a small act of kindness towards someone you know, a stranger
or the person you despise. Luke 6:27,28- "But to you who are willing to listen, I
say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who
curse you. Pray for those who hurt you." If they accept it or not that is not the point,
you took that step and they saw the kindness either way. Romans 14:1- "Accept other
believers who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they
think is right or wrong." When you do offer kindness, be able to receive it from others but

also do not look to receive a reward for your good deeds. If you're looking for a reward, you are
doing it for all the wrong reasons. Romans 4:2- "If his good deeds had made him
acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that is
not God's way."
Every rescue, every smile, every compliment and every act of kindness is non refundable. I'm not
looking for something in return. It's to make an impact that no one else can. That's why it is so
special, only you as a person can have your own unique way of impacting the lives of others. 1
Peter 4;10- "God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of
spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." Start using your gifts, and stop
doubting yourself. Psalms 94:19-"When doubts filled my mind, your comfort
gave me renewed hope and cheer." You are called, and He will equip you. Romans
11:29- "For God's gifts and His call can never be withdrawn."
