Speech of Honorable Prime Minister on Organic Farming
Organic farming 'benefits biodiversity'Going green again
ORGANIC: Is it the future of farming?
Organic farming methods combine scientific knowledge and modern technology with traditional farming practices
based on thousands of years of agriculture. In general, organic methods rely on naturally occurring biological
processes, which often take place over extended periods of time, and a holistic approach.Crop diversity is a
distinctive characteristic of organic farming.Organic food market is one of the fastest growing businesses in India
with increase in demand due to the perceived advantage of such food. Even the Indian government is promoting
organic food in the country through National Project on Organic Farming (NPOF) scheme. Launched in October
2004 with an initial outlay of Rs.57 crore, NPOF scheme continues till date with substantially enhanced budget.
While the government is spending crores of rupees on organic farming promotion,"The Potential of Organic
farming in India is very huge because of its immense bio-diversity and natural resources in the country. There is a
great need to promote the Organic farming and its practices in the country," there are different positive facts
about organic agriculture that many people do not know.
Sikkim has become India's first fully organic state by converting around 75,000 hectares of agricultural land into
sustainable cultivation. In the long term, organic farming leads in subsistence of agriculture, bio-diversity
conservation and environmental protection. Sustainable farming will also help in building the soil health resulting
in sustainable increased crop production. Later the entry of chemical inputs for farmland was restricted and their
sale banned. Farmers therefore had no option but to go organic.Organic agriculture is dependent upon stabilizing
agro-ecosystems, maintaining ecological balances, developing biological processes to their optimum, and linking
agricultural activities with the conservation of biodiversity.
Nearly all non-crops, naturally occurring species observed in comparative farm land practice studies show a
preference in organic farming both by population and richness. Birds, butterflies, soil microbes, beetles,
earthworms, spiders, vegetation, and mammals are particularly benefited. Organic crops have little or no
herbicides and pesticides and thus biodiversity fitness and population density gets benefitted. Many weed
species attract beneficial insects that improve soil qualities and forage on weed pests. Soil-bound organisms
often benefits because of increased bacteria populations due to natural nutrient source spread such as manure,
while experiencing reduced intake of herbicides and pesticides in comparison to common practices associated in
conventional farming methods. Increased biodiversity, especially soil microbes such as mycorrhizae, have been
proposed as an explanation for the high yields experienced by some organic farming practices, especially in light
of the differences seen in a twenty one year's comparison of organic and control fields.
Microbes are an integral part of soil and contribute to soil and plant health. Microorganisms have the ability to fix
atmospheric nitrogen, solubilize and mobilize phosphorus, produce antibiotics and disease suppressing
molecules. Owing to these properties, they are used in agriculture as biofertilizers and biopesticides. They are
also important in the treatment of solid waste and sewage. They clean up the environment by degradation of
several pollutants like pesticides, hydrocarbons, dyes and paints. They also help in the enhanced recovery of oil
and metals from low grade ores or aqueous streams.Biofetilizers are the products containing living cells of
different types of microorganisms that enrich the nutrient quality of soil. The main sources of biofertilizers are
bacteria, fungi and cyanobacteria (blue green algae). Most biofertilizers belong to one of the following categories:

nitrogen fixing, phosphate solubilizing and mobilizing, and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. Some of the
major biofertilizers and target crops are given in
table.
Biofertilizersviz:

Rhizobium,

Azotobacter,

Azospirillum, PSB and Pseudomonas etc have been

found

to

be

very

effective

tools

of

fertility

management and biological nutrient mobilization.

Recently customized consortia of such biofertilizer
organisms, better adapted to local climatic conditions
have also been developed and are available
commercially. Efficiency of such microbial formulations is much higher under no-chemical use situations,
therefore application of such inputs need to be
ensured under all cropping situations.
Biological pest control on organic farms, for
example, relies on maintaining healthy populations
of pest predators and parasitoids. Trichoderma viride
or T. harazianum or Pseudomonas fluorescence,
Bacillus subtilis formulation either alone or in
combination, manage most of the seed borne & soil
borne diseases. There are other formulations viz.
Beauvariabassiana,

Metariziumanisopliae,

Numeriarileyi, Verticilliumsp, which are available in the market and can manage their specific host pest.
Bacillusthurengensisstenebrionis and B. thurengensissandigo are effective against coleopterans as well as some
other insect species. Bt. has been used in the management of diamond back moth on crucifers and vegetables.

Organic farming outperforms conventional in yields, economic viability,

conservation, and health
Organic farming does not have a monopoly on managing and promoting soil health. Smart conventional farmers
are concerned about microorganisms and their influence on the production cycle as well. However, organic
farmers are perhaps somewhat more reliant on microorganisms as they use a lot of things like manure and
compost as fertilizer, rather than synthetic fertilizers which generally do not need microorganisms to break it
down first. While conventional agriculture relies on synthetic fertilizer, chemical pesticides or other technological
inputs for crop production, organic agriculture aims to make optimal use of the natural capital of the soil and its
microbial population through methods such as the selection of indigenous crop varieties, and the production of
crops appropriate to soil conditions. A number of different soil microorganisms are involved in these processes,
which include potential biocontrol agents against weeds, crop diseases and pests,Rhizobacteria and mycorrhizal
species playing an important role in sustainable fertility management. Microorganisms are currently being used
as a replacement for synthetic pesticides and
fertilizers for many different crops.

Organic Farming vs. Conventional Farming

Organic and conventional agriculture belonged to two different
paradigms. The fundamental difference between the two
competing agricultural paradigms as follows:
"Microorganisms" is a broad term for a wide range of life. The role
of microorganisms in farming, whether organic or conventional is
important. Microorganisms have many influences, both positive
and

negative

on

crops.

Some

positive

influences

are;

microorganisms degrade organic matter in the soil, which frees

up nutrients for plant uptake. Much of the nutrients contained in manure and compost are not readily soluble so
they can't be used right away by plants. Microorganisms also sometimes fix nitrogen from the air and convert it to
a form plants can use. They can infect the roots of some plants, forming a symbiotic relationship (ericaceous
plants and endomycorhizal fungi), they allow the plant roots to take up water and nutrients more efficiently. Some
microorganisms are also predatory on plant pests known as Biological control agents including,Bacillus
thuringiensis,

Pseudomaonasflourescens,

Bacillus

subtilis, Trichoderma spp. etc.

Negative effects can be that some microorganisms are
pathogenic to plants, causing disease or yield loss.
There are many species of fungi and bacteria that can
be harmful to plants.Organic and natural farming
systems are driven by nature. In these farming
systems, soil micro-organisms play a pivotal role as
the main driving forces. The use of soil microbial
technologies to improve the efficiency of farming and
to ensure the safe management of the environment is
an important development because the ultimate
success of humankind and the health of the planet
relies on the development of efficient and sustainable agricultural systems and improved environmental
stewardship. Many important processes in soils (e.g. biological nitrogen fixation, residue decomposition,
mineralization/immobilization turnover, nutrient cycling, and denitrification) are mediated by soil micro-organisms.
Although these processes at the cellular level are well understood and documented, less is known about them in
practical farming systems especially in organic farming. Microbial interactions and activity in soils are complex
and are affected not only by environmental factors (e.g. temperature, soil moisture, soil pH) but also by soil
management practices. The latter is generally within the control of farmers and thus provides a means for
farmers to manipulate microbial activity and processes to enhance crop yields and long-term soil productivity.

legalized

way

of

killing

every

person

on

earth..??

Can you imagine making a profit by killing or maiming millions of innocent men, women and children everyday? Pesticides are not healthy for the farm, the farmer, or the farm worker. So why do people
use them?Companies like, The Dow Chemical Company, DuPont and Monsanto produce some of the
deadliest pesticides on the planet. These pesticides are slowly killing people (everyday) and
damaging our environment for generations to come. Not only are pesticides dangerous to the
environment, but they are also hazardous to a person's health. After countless studies, pesticides
have been linked to cancer, Alzheimer's disease, ADHD, and even birth defects. Pesticides also have

the potential to harm the nervous system, the reproductive system, and the endocrine system.
Pesticides can even be very harmful to fetuses because the chemicals can pass from the mother
during pregnancy or if a woman nurses her child. Although one piece of fruit with pesticides won't kill
you, if they build up in your body, they can be potentially detrimental to your health and should be
avoided as much as possible.
Don't become a victim of ignorance. Your life literally depends on a clean, healthy intestinal tract. Naturally, the
use of pesticides, herbicides or other toxic chemicals on our food supply should not be allowed - right? Yet, a
chemical-producing corporation, like Dow - the creator of 2, 4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (a highly toxic
pesticide/herbicide) is allowed to legally poison every person on a daily basis.
In fact, 2,4-D is the most widely used herbicide in the world, and the third most commonly used in North America.
This deadly ingredient was heavily used in the production of Agent Orange - sprayed all over Vietnam during the
Vietnam War. When are we going to put a stop to all this madness and save humanity!
Pesticides, like 2,4-D can be stored in your colon - where they will slowly start to poison you to death. For
example, believe it or not, when you eat a non-organic apple - you are consuming around 30 different toxic
pesticides that have been sprayed on that piece of fruit. The highest pesticide levels exist on strawberries,
apples, carrots, celery, spinach, grapes and cucumbers. If you want to be healthy - learning about detoxification
is a must!
Farmers did not always use pesticides. In the past, farmers had many safe ways to control pests. Many farmers
still use traditional methods with great success. If you have a choice, it is best not to use pesticides. But many
people who use pesticides are workers on large farms and plantations, and they seem to have no choice.
Pesticides are never safe. But we hope awareness towardsorganic farming will help farmers, plantation workers,
and people who use pesticides.
Organic farming will help people who want to return to traditional methods of agriculture, use safer methods of
pest control, or farm without chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Now, some of you may be wondering,"Do organic
foods have pesticides?" The answer is yes, but these pesticides come from natural sources, such as certain
types of plants, and they do not use synthetic pesticides. Organic farmers also tend to spray less pesticides on
their produce than other farmers, and the pesticides are less dangerous for the environment. Also, if a product is
certified organic, it has to abide by the national standards.

What

is

Trichoderma..??

The use of biological agents is becoming an increasingly important alternative to chemical control
against insects, weeds and diseases in agriculture. In developing countries, farmers are faced with
the high cost of chemical farm inputs to control fungal diseases
Fungi are the most important biological agents against plant pathogens. Trichoderma species are common
filamentous fungi, capable of hyper parasitizing pathogenic fungi and are highly efficient antagonists.
Trichoderma, a low-cost, environmentally friendly alternative that reduces the need for chemical fungicides while
combatting a range of fungal diseases. Trichoderma is an avirulent plant symbiont that occurs naturally in all
agricultural and forest soils and root ecosystems. It is also highly competitive, displaying antagonism against
other pathogenic fungi. It has been successfully cultivated for use as a biofungicide, with Trichoderma harzianum,
T. viride, and T. hamatum as the most common species used for biological control.

Benefits

Is environmentally friendly.
Leaves no chemical residue.
Reduces the need for harsh, expensive chemical fungicides.
Reduces crop losses and increases yields.
Is usable on many crops and usable against many pathogenic fungi.
Is inexpensive to purchase and is easy and inexpensive to produce.
Is a potential source of income

Biology/Mode Of Action

Trichoderma colonizes plants root systems and protects them from several soil borne pathogens.
It decomposes and absorbs the organic material in which it grows.
It attacks other fungi in the plants root system by coiling its tentacle-like mycelia around them,

penetrating the hyphal strands and consuming their insides.

It can grow rapidly on many different substrates and can out-compete other organisms for space and

food within the plant root system, starving out the harmful organisms.
It can provide a plant with systemic resistance against pathogens by releasing compounds that activate

the plants defense mechanisms.

Seed treatment with Trichoderma can protect the seedlings from pathogenic fungi.
Root colonization by Trichoderma enhances plant root growth and nutrient and water uptake, increasing
resistance to drought and crop productivity.

Application
Trichoderma is applied via seed treatments, soil amendments, and foliar sprays.

BEYOND PESTICIDES - Teaming With Microbes For A Better Tommorrow!

Protecting Health & Environment with Science.
What are you achieving by feeding people at the cost of their health..??
Organic farming can be defined as the holistic view of agriculture that aims to reflect the profound
interrelationship between farm biota, agricultural production and the overall environment. In some respects, this
definition stands as the complete opposite to conventional agriculture, which implies extensive use of artificial
inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides designed to increase productivity in food production.
Organic farming seems to be more appropriate as it considered the important aspects like sustainability.
Agriculture is the most important sector for ensuring food security, alleviating poverty and conserving the vital
natural resources that the world's present and future generation will be entirely dependent upon for their survival
and wellbeing, in the name of development, the environmental resources have been beyond comprehension.
Acid rain, deforestation, pest control, insect control, discharge of industries, depletion of ozone layer are some
environmental problematic issues. Originally in agriculture, there was use of chemicals pesticides, fungicides and
fertilizers. Green Revolution has led to increase in usage of various chemicals, which were used to increase the
agricultural productivity. But these were very harmful to the nature and also to human beings. In fact more
fertilizers consumption is a good indication of agricultural productivity but depletion of soil fertility is commonly
observed in soils. High agricultural inputs are unlikely to be sustainable for very long unless the inputs are
correctly judged in terms of both their quality and quantity.
To escape from these harmful effects, the concept of organic farming was emerged. Organic farming seems to be
more appropriate as it considers the important aspects like sustainable natural resources and environment. It is a

production system, which favours maximum use of organic materials like crop residues, FYM, compost, green
manure, oil cakes, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio-gas slurry, microbial products like Azotobacter, Trichoderma,
Pseudomonas, Beauveria, Blue green algae, Azolla, Bacillus spp. etc., have increased the yield and also played
important role for minimizing the harmful effect of pesticides and herbicides. Organic farming is a practical
proposition for sustainable agriculture if adequate attention is paid to this issue. There is urgent need to involve
more and more scientist to identify the thrust area of research for the development of eco-friendly production
technology.

diseases. In case of insect pests management they are effective against sucking pests, lepidopterans pests, mite
and nematode. IPL has a bouquet of products to convert all lands from conventional farming to Organic Farming.
It is pertinent to mention here that we have successfully implemented government funded projects in the states of
Bihar, Haryana, Sikkim and J&K, for Organic Farming.

The Need of Organic Farming in India: For Those Chemicals in Your Food That
Can Kill..!!
India is one of the agricultural based Nation with more than 58% of the population out of 1150 million, pertaining
to agricultural sector. Before 1960, in India only organic farming practice was followed without chemical fertilizers
and pesticides. During late 1960s, there was threaten to food security due to population raise and frequent
draughts. Government of India had entered collaboration with USA for reforming farming practices by adding
chemical products for cultivation, diseases and weed management. There was increase in production and
productivity in chemical or conventional farming and our country was able to satisfy partly the food security. After
30-40 years, production and productivity reduced drastically with abnormal input costs and the farming sector
turned to be unfavourable occupation to all concerned. Soil degradation, more diseases, uncontrollable weeds,
high water consumption, unfavourable price and with several natural and manmade issues, conventional farming
turned to be unworthy for farmers. The recent decade has seen a serious concern over the issue of environmental
degradation and an urgent need for its sustainability has been raised. Consequently, attempts have been made
by many institutions, both public as well as private, to promote sustainable growth especially in regards to the
ecology.
During the past, till the introduction of the LPG in the Indian economy, Indian agriculture was largely based on
traditional knowledge and practices which mainly made use of organic mode of farming techniques and it is on
this past practices that the modern proposal of the promotion of organic farming is based. Perhaps, an interesting

argument that can be made against this is that the present agriculture is producing enough to meet the demand
of the population and even export. But at what cost is it coming ?

Fig. 1 Ill effects of using chemical fertilizers causing severe diseases at early child ages
The introduction of a reckless chemical based agricultural policy in the recent decades has had adverse impact
on the Indian agricultural practices and serious environmental concerns have been raised. Taking methodologies
and practices from the west to enter the neo-liberal era and adopting to their mode of production led to the
introduction of the famous Green Revolution, which was to address the issue of low productivity, but remained
confined to defined geological areas favouring farming conditions aptly and now, for manyfarmers, has turned
into the Red Revolution of their blood (In regards to chemical usage). Why do farmers commit suicides? A study
of Andhra Pradesh in regards to farming inputs that: The regime has had the effect of releasing control over the
terms on which peasants access inputs. These inputs, ranging from power to pesticides have gone outside the
ambit of state control.

The high doses of pesticides which increased from 24.32 thousand tonnes in 1970-75 to 75 thousand tonnes in
1990-91 have been having an adverse impact on the aquatic life, plants and animals. Time and again, animal
deaths and human deaths as well, have been reported due to the excessive use of fertilizers.
All these factors completely come against this definition of sustainable agriculture as given out by the Food and
Agriculture Organisation that The successful management of resources for agriculture to satisfy changing
human needs while maintaining or enhancing the quality of environment and conserving natural
resources.Arguments may be raised over this and several critiques may also come forward but what needs to be
kept in mind is that sustainable agriculture is of utmost importance and this can be achieved by encouraging the
use of organic farming, which is currently limited to an area of just 41,000 ha in India, only 0.03% of the total
cultivated area. This comes in complete contrast to the area usage around the world which varies between
3.70%-11.30%.
To escape from the harmful effects of chemicals, the concept of organic farming was emerged. Organic farming
seems to be more appropriate as it considers the important aspects like sustainable natural resources and
environment. It is a production system, which favours maximum use of organic materials like crop residues, FYM,
compost, green manure, oil cakes, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio-gas slurry, microbial products like
Azotobacter, Trichoderma, Pseudomonas, Beauveria, Blue green algae, Azolla, Bacillus spp. etc., have
increased the yield and also played important role for minimizing the harmful effect of pesticides and herbicides.
Organic farming is a practical proposition for sustainable agriculture if adequate attention is paid to this issue.
There is urgent need to involve more and more scientist to identify the thrust area of research for the
development of eco-friendly production technology.

Fig. 2 Conventional farming using chemical fertilizers v/s Organic farming using biofertilizers
Organic agriculture occupies just 1 percent of cropland across the world. While organic sales continue to grow, a
study has found that organic farming is economically-feasible in many countries. Theglobal increase in the area
under organic farming is a result of high awareness of health problems caused by contaminated food, ill effects of
environmental degradation, appropriate support by government and organisation and have gained strong support
not only by local governments but also by international organisations such as European Union and International
Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM). Some of the countries abroad have shown an increase in
the organic production by 20%.
Many benefits of organic farming arent quantified and would likely tip the balance even further in organics
favour. Problems like soil erosion and fertilizers nitrates entering nearby groundwater, for example, often plague
conventional agriculturists but not organic ones.So why arent more farmers switching to organic methods? It
takes three years of organic farming before a farmer can label his produce organic and cash in on that
surcharge. During those three years, the farmers need to spend, grow and harvest like an organic farmerbut
earn like a conventional one. The studys authors conclude by urging governments to encourage farmers to
transition from conventional to organic by developing policies to support them during that time.
However, in India, there have been many a problems that have caused a failure of usage of organic farming. This
has resulted due to failure of linkages between the farmers and markets and absence of financial support from
the government. The only policy in this regard has been that of National Standards of Organic Production in
2000.It is concluded that OF practice, our own indigenous technology is to be reintroduced from the current 1 to
2% to the possible extend to get rid of difficulties in conventional farming. Organic farming will solve the food
shortage and crisis in our country permanently and can encash heavily by exporting to needy countries of having
severe food shortages.

DO You Know.YEAR 2015Is UNITED NATIONS- International Year of Soils

The 68th UN General Assembly declared 2015 the International Year of Soils (IYS) (A/RES/68/232).The
International Year of Soils aims to raise awareness of why soils are important for food security and the
ecosystem,

which

comprises

all

plants

and

animals

in

an

area.

Soils are a finite natural resource and are non-renewable on a human time scale. Soils are the foundation for
food, animal feed, fuel and natural fibre production, the supply of clean water, nutrient cycling and a range of
ecosystem functions. The area of fertile soils covering the world's surface is limited and increasingly subject to
degradation, poor management and loss to urbanization. Increased awareness of the life-supporting functions of
soil is called for if this trend is to be reversed and so enable the levels of food production necessary to meet the
demands of population levels predicted for 2050.Soils preservation and sustainable land management have
become essential for reversing the trend of soil degradation and ensuring food security and a sustainable future.
Individuals, organizations, industries, governments, scientists, religious institutions, artists, etc...All should
contribute to save our soil, then our ecosystems and Earth as a whole.

ecosystems and Earth as a whole.

Disappearing Soils
Soils are made up of organic remains, clay and rock particles, found on
the Earths surface. We need soils to produce food, give clothes and
build homes. Soils also store and filter water, recycle nutrients, and
create a barrier against floods. The area of fertile soils covering the
worlds surface is limited. Deforestation, bad agricultural practices and pollution can cause soil degradation and
erosion. Soils are also trapped underground when cities keep growing in size and more buildings are
made.Current soil management strategies are mainly dependent on inorganic chemical-based fertilizers, which
caused a serious threat to human health and environment.Conventional agriculture plays a significant role in
meetingthe food demands of a growing human population, which has also led to an increasing dependence on
chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Chemical fertilizers areindustrially manipulated, substances composed of
knownquantities of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, andtheir exploitation causes air and ground water
pollutionby eutrophication of water bodies. In this regard, recentefforts have been channelized more towards the
productionof nutrient rich high quality food to ensure bio-safety by using biological products for farming. The
innovative view offarm production attracts the growing demand of biological based organic fertilizers, microbial
products exclusive of alternative toagro-chemicals. In agriculture, encourage alternatemeans of soil fertilization
relies on organic inputs to improvenutrient supply and conserve the field management The exploitation of
beneficial microbes as a biofertilizer has become paramount importance in agriculture sector for their potential
role in food safety and sustainable crop production. Biofertilizers are known to play a number of vital roles in soil
fertility, crop productivity and production in agriculture as they are eco-friendly and cannot at any cost replace
chemical fertilizers that are indispensable for getting maximum crop yields.
Biofertilizers (chemical free products for farming) function as key player in sustainable agriculture by improving
soil fertility, plant tolerance and crop productivity. Soil management strategies are mainly dependent on inorganic
chemical-based fertilizers, which caused aserious threat to human health and environment. The exploitation of
beneficial microbes as a biofertilizer has become paramount importance in agriculture sector for their potential
role in food safety and sustainable crop production. The eco-friendly approaches inspire a wide range of
application of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs), endo- and ectomycorrhizal fungi, cyanobacteria
and many other useful microscopic organisms led to improved nutrient uptake, plant growth and plant tolerance
to abiotic and biotic stress. The knowledge gained fromthe literature will help us to understand the physiological
bases of biofertlizers towards sustainable agriculture in reducing problems associated with the use of chemicals
fertilizers.
Organic farming is one of such strategies that not onlyensures food safety but also adds to the biodiversity of soil.
The additional advantages of biofertilizers include longershelf life causing no adverse effects to
ecosystem.Organic farming is mostly dependent on the naturalmicroflora of the soil which constitutes all kinds of
usefulbacteria and fungi including the arbuscular mycorrhizafungi (AMF) called plant growth promoting

rhizobacteria(PGPR). Biofertilizers keep the soil environment rich in allkinds of micro- and macro-nutrients via
nitrogen fixation, phosphate and potassium solubilisation or mineralization, release of plant growth regulating
substances, productionof antibiotics and biodegradation of organic matter in the soil. When biofertilizers are
applied as seed orsoil inoculants, they multiply and participate in nutrientcycling and benefit crop productivity. In
general,60% to 90% of the total applied fertilizer is lost and theremaining 10% to 40% is taken up by plants. In
this regard, microbial inoculants have paramount significancein integrated nutrient management systems to
sustainagricultural productivity and healthy environment.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has been nominated to implement the IYS 2015,
within the framework of the Global Soil Partnership and in collaboration with Governments and the secretariat of
the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The IYS 2015 aims to increase awareness and
understanding

of

the

importance

of

soil

for

food

security

and

essential

ecosystem

functions.

The specific objectives of the IYS 2015 are to:

Raise full awareness among civil society and decision makers about the

profound importance of soil for human life;

Educate the public about the crucial role soil plays in food security, climate

change adaptation and mitigation, essential ecosystem services, poverty

alleviation and sustainable development;
Support effective policies and actions for the sustainable management and

protection of soil resources;

Promote investment in sustainable soil management activities to develop

and maintain healthy soils for different land users and population groups;
Strengthen initiatives in connection with the SDG process (Sustainable

Development Goals) and Post-2015 agenda;

Advocate for rapid capacity enhancement for soil information collection and
monitoring at all levels (global, regional and national).
