Where did the town Semabok get its name from? - According to
local hearsay- A constantly drunk British Officer in Melaka
whom local addressed him as Sir led to the place where he was
working to be called Semabok. The locals would refer to the officer as Sir
Mabuk (drunk sir), and the name Semabok came to be associated with the
place.

Places of Interest around Semabok Hang Tuahs Village
in Duyong- Hang Tuah was a legendary warrior who lived in Melaka during
the reign of Sultan Mansur Shah in the 15th century. He was supposedly the
most powerful of all the laksamanas, or admirals, and is considered by the
Malays to be one of history's greatest silat masters.

All About SK Semabok - then and now

Built In the year 1883 (Wooden Building with nipah roof)
The birth of SK Semabok school is a symbol of determination and
ambition purely by local people who wanted to see progress of the
villagers here
.
The spirit of mutual cooperation between the villagers and religious
teacher Tok Guru Abdul Kadir has triggered the idea of building a
school.
Starting in 1883 with nipa -roofed building , then the formal school
system was created then . Its first headmaster was Mr Mohamad B
Siam . This magnificent building was constructed with the change
from time to time to enhance the teaching and learning process .
The school is named after the village Semabok whose original name
was "The Druken Sir"

Lahirnya sekolah yang tersergam indah adalah lambang

kesungguhan dan cita-cita murni masyarakat setempat yang
inginkan kemajuan.
Hasil semangat bergotong-royong yang jitu antara
mereka maka wujudlah sekolah pertama di tapak sekolah ini .
Sebuah pondok dibina sebagai tempat menuntut ilmu
keagamaan dengan seorang Tok Guru Cikgu Abdul Kadir.
Bermula tahun 1883 dengan bangunan beratap nipah,
maka satu sistem persekolahan yang formal dapat diwujudkan
. Guru besar pertamanya ialah Encik Mohamad B Siam.

Bangunan yang tersergam ini telah dibina dengan

perubahan dari semasa ke semasa untuk mempertingkatkan
proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran.
Sekolah ini dinamakan sempena Kampung Semabok
yang nama asalnya ialah Si Mabok (Pada zaman
pemerintahan British, ramai orang British berpesta dan mabuk
berhampiran Lotus Inn, maka penduduk setempat dan
berhampiran menamakannya kampung Si Mabok)

as Lebuh AMJ (Alor Gajah - Central Malacca - Jasin) Generally, the

Lebuh AMJ runs north-south from Simpang Ampat to Malacca City
before running from west-east from Malacca City to Muar. Lebuh AMJ
was constructed due to the traffic congestion along the former
Federal Routes. The project was started from 2001 and was
completed in 2007
