July 2016 Current: Summer Outreach Intern at Fairfax County Department of Family Services
- Explain federal, state, and local public assistance policies to clients and service providers
- Assist clients in submitting Medicaid or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program applications
- Conduct in-depth interviews of clients to assess eligibility for financial, publicly supported medical services
- Work with clients to assist with gathering the information required to establish eligibility for county services
- Compile data and prepare reports on beneficiaries receiving medical and nutritional services
- Perform client needs assessments to aid in making appropriate referrals to other services
