In Interior Design, we will address a broad range of knowledge with

focus on the design of residential and nonresidential interior
environments. Some of the topics will include design practices and
influences, lighting, materials, furnishings, drafting, Chief Architect,
and legal considerations and impact of technology on interior design.
Budgeting, consumer decision-making, safety, the care and
maintenance of interiors, career preparations and the management of
multiple adult roles are also emphasized.
Student Expectations

making up their work. Information about missed work can be
obtained by checking with me after class instruction. NEVER
interrupt class with a request for make up work. Please see me at
appropriate time, 8:00 am or 3:45 pm if there are any questions.
Students with unexcused absences will not be able to make up
missing work. Please realize that attendance as well as
participation is very important, this is the way I assess your
understanding of the material.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
At Horn High School we see a rise in cell phone use every year. As a
teacher I try to plan hands on engaging lessons every day, however,
students often miss portions of information or loose time needed to
complete large projects simply because they are distracted by their
mobile devices.

Some facts:
Half of teens and over one-quarter of parents feel they're
addicted to their mobile devices.
Seventy-two percent of teens and 48 percent of parents feel the
need to immediately respond to texts, social-networking
messages, and other notifications.
At least a few times a week, more than three-quarters of parents
and 41 percent of teens feel the other gets distracted by a
device and doesn't pay attention when they're trying to talk.
How you can help:
_______ Yes, my student has a cell phone & I am fine with it being
checked in at the beginning of classes on days when technology is not
a part of the lesson.
______ Yes, my student has a cell phone but I do not want them to
check it in during class. I understand that if my student is not following
district policy for electronic devices during class there will be
consequences as outlined in the student handbook.
______ No, my student does not own an electronic device.
