Lorinax and the Dragon Cults

At the highest peak of the Blackhammer mountain range, atop a peak known as
Drakkenkeep, is the nesting place of Lorinax; most ancient and powerful of the Dragons,
Lorinax is a creature of truly terrifying power that has withstood the combined might of every
race and nation aligned against him, keeping his ancestral hunting grounds The Drakken
Wastes free from the rule of lesser creatures. His disdain for The Great Empire and the other
dragons that have been pacified or slaughtered by it is well known and an uneasy cessation
of hostilities between the two exists only because Lorinax does not wish his people to suffer
all-out war with the Empire, not because he has any fear for himself in such a conflict. As
history has shown, any attempts to slay the great dragon have been rebuked with severe
consequences.
Lorinax is served in the Drakken Wastes by the Dragonborn tribes, fanatical and barbaric
cultists that worship Lorinax far beyond a beloved ruler. After the Empire's god ascended to a
higher plane, their fervent worship has increased in ferocity and dedication. Often their brutal
raids against the Empire will result in masses of captives being taken and forcibly
indoctrinated into their religious dogma in hopes that one day The Great Dragon will ride the
skies in the realm of the gods and his fiery breath with scorch the heavens clean of the
heathen gods.
The Dragon Cults are the only worship expressly banned within the borders of The Empire
though small circles of these cultists are frequently uncovered. Lorinax's influence has
spread widely throughout the nomads of the Sea of Grass and their goblin counterparts. The
Drow beneath the Blackhammer Mountains also pay great homage to the one they call
Nahimarimou, "The Great Fire of the Skies".
