NARRATIVE REPORT ON ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

(TREE PLANTING DAY)
JULY 29, 2106
In support with the National Tree Planting day, the Macatbong Elementary School held
activities to increase the awareness of pupils on the importance of trees and tree planting in our
environment. After the flag raising ceremony, the school principal, Eufemia C. Santiago,
delivered her speech regarding the importance and benefits of trees not only in our school and
community but also to our environment. The principal stressed the cause and effect of planting
trees and its role to our environment. Pupils were enlightened about how significant trees are and
were able to appreciate the speech delivered by the principal.
After the speech was delivered, the pupils form a line and paraded around the school
vicinity to promote and increase awareness to the community about the national tree planting
day. After the short parade, pupils, led by the principal, boy scouts and girl scouts of Macatbong
Elementary School, planted the seedlings around the school grounds.
Fifty (50) seedlings were planted. Out of fifty (50) seedlings, forty (40) were mahogany
and ten (10) were cashew plants. Cashew seedlings were planted at the back of the PPP building
while the twenty (20) mahogany seedlings were planted in front of the said building. Sixteen (16)
mahogany seedlings were planted at the back of the Corazon Aquino building and the remaining
four (4) mahogany seedlings were planted in front of the Rizal park.
Each seedling was named after who planted the seedlings and each of them committed
their self to taking care of the seedlings. They will be in-charge of watering it and safeguarding
the seedlings.
After the tree planting activity, the pupils went back to their respective rooms with a
smile in their faces. Each of them was happy about the tree planting experience.
