Introduction

Power Supply
A power supply is a component that supplies power to at least one electric load. Typically, it
converts one type of electrical power to another, but it may also convert a a different form of
energy - such as solar, mechanical, or chemical - into electrical energy.A power supply
provides components with electric power. The term usually pertains to devices integrated
within the component being powered. For example, computer power supplies convert AC
current to DC current and are generally located at the rear of the computer case, along with
at least one fan.A power supply is also known as a power brick or power adapter. There are
many advantages of power supply and one of it is very light to carry around. It also can
supply lower voltage for electronic circuit for experiment.

Function Of Each Components

Transformer

Transformers are also used extensively in electronic products to decrease (or step-down)
the supply voltage to a level suitable for the low voltage circuits they contain.
The transformer also electrically isolates the end user from contact with the supply voltage.

Capacitor

Capacitors are widely used as parts of electrical circuits in many common electrical devices.
Unlike a resistor, an ideal capacitor does not dissipate energy. Instead, acapacitor stores
energy in the form of an electrostatic field between its plates.

Light Emitting Diode(LED)

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an
electric current passes through it. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LEDs it is
monochromatic, occurring at a single wavelength.

Diode

The most common function of a diode is to allow an electric current to pass in one direction
(called the diode's forward direction), while blocking current in the opposite direction (the
reverse direction). Thus, the diode can be viewed as an electronic version of a check valve

Resistor

The main function of resistors in a circuit is to control the flow of current to other
components. Take an LED (light) for example. If too much current flows through an LED it is
destroyed. So a resistor is used to limit the current.

Voltage Regulator

A voltage regulator generates a fixed output voltage of a preset magnitude that

remains constant regardless of changes to its input voltage or load conditions.
There are two types of voltage regulators: linear and switching.
