Gender and privacy in cyberspace-a critical analysis
This paper focuses on the privacy issues concerned with cyberspace and the
impact it has on the fairer sex. The main reason to choose this topic is that
cybercrime targeted against women is on the rise. This study brings into light the
answer for the question : whether online privacy fears are real?and discusses
about topics such as privacy paradox how the Hate- Love relationship with the
internet stresses women. By studying and analysing this issue we can infer that
there are a very few legal remedies available for the victims. I argue that law
should be utilized in combination with other practical solutions, in order to seek
justice and to diminish the presence of such significant problems exiting in the
society especially against the female sex. Another essential topic discussed is
about the ORANGE DAY , the paramount object behind this monthly campaign to
raise global awareness on issues relevant to preventing and ending violence
against women and girls in the cyberspace and turn it into a safe one. Lets not
cease our efforts to put a fullstop to this threat every women faces in todays
society. As persistent threats can not only diminish well-being and cause
psychological trauma but can undercut career prospects and the ability to
function effectively in the marketplace and participate in democracy.
