For the transient diffusion in a sphere, assuming uniform
initial mo isture content and a constant effective moisture
diffusivity throughout the sample, the analytical solution of
(2) yields (3). The effective moisture diffusivity is
determined by applying logarithms to (3) to obtain a linear
relation o f the form shown in (4). Therefore, a p lot of ln (MR)
versus time y ields a straight line, and the d iffusivity is
