Lesson summary:

Duration: 60 minutes

Teacher starts the lesson by asking the pupils to guess the insects shown by the LCD. Then,
teacher asks the pupils to listen carefully. Teacher tells them about the six insects that they
were exposed in previous lesson (grasshopper, butterfly, dragonfly, ladybird, praying
mantis, and ant). While telling them about the insects, teacher shows pictures of insects
using LCD. Then, teacher distributes a mah-jong paper and a blue/black marker pen to each
group. The pupils are asked to choose an insect and draw it on the manila card. Plus, they
have to describe the particular insect and write it on the manila card. After that, pupils will
present their works by groups at the front of the class. Teacher recaps the lesson and asks the
pupils what they have learned. Teacher gives the pupils worksheets as a homework.
Content Standard:
1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and
speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.
Learning Standard:
1.1.4 Able to talk about related topics with guidance.
Pupils previous knowledge:
Pupils were exposed to the insects in previous lesson.
Objectives: By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to:
1. Say, describe and present at least 4 characteristics of an insect in groups.
