2. Case Scenario

industry in Sydney, the owners of Uni-Verve Residences decide there is a healthy
opportunity for a premium brand student residence. The company wants to position
itself differently from the typical packaged accommodations (ie defined by budget)
competing in Sydney. The student residence will be marketed to niche local and
international customers who prefer premium quality living, conveniences and lifestyle.
Central to their value proposition is providing an environment that is IT enabled to an
exceptional level.
Uni-Verve Residences offer beautiful all en-suite single and twin-sharing rooms with a
choice of traditional or modern finishes to suit varied style preferences. The sprawling
resort like property boasts of 3 cafes, 3 study halls equipped with meeting rooms, gym
and nutrition centre, sports & adventure unit, hobby centre, relaxation and spa pavilion
and a nicely stocked grocery/food shop.
The company values safety and security of the residents, convenience, intelligent
processes, collaborative study environment and exposure to the Australian educational
experience and culture.
The company is now accepting proposals for their mobile application or mobile ready
website that delivers the standards that Uni-Verve desires. A mock-up of the app or

website is required by the owners. The mock-up does not have to be a fully functioning
website or app it only needs to demonstrate the features and functions (further detail
on this criteria will be issued in the guide for PARTS B&C).
Design Brief (the look and feel):
The app/website should be modern and catchy and represent dynamism, vivacity and
enthusiasm.
Functional Requirements:
The app/website should be intuitive and easy to navigate. It should also have
transaction elements (booking and payment systems), deliver potential additional
revenue streams (on top of the complexs existing amenities), foster an avenue for
collaboration, social connection and support between Uni-Verve staff and residents.
The owners wish to see creativity, innovation and imagination in your proposals but
also want to be assured that you have their vision and values in mind, and understand
what their business needs.
