Re: Provocative military drills along the border of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea
His Excellency Mr. Ban Ki-moon,
My name is Isaiah X. Smith and I am sending you this letter as for the purpose as to notifying your office
that the United States of America and South Korea are involved in provocative military drills near the
North Korean border and that the military drills are and or have the possibility as to violating
international law.
I believe that the joint military drills have the purpose as to provoking the government of North Korea
after recently one of the Ambassadors of the government of North Korea recently gave up his position
with North Korea and is now a resident of South Korea.
As you may already know, the government of North Korea and the government of South Korea have an
odious relationship. Despite their hostility towards each other, none of those countries have a right to
be involved in any type of provocative military drills against each other. All countries, regardless as to
their hostility towards one another, must all peacefully co-exist. No country has a right to commit any
act of aggression towards the other through the use of military drills.
The government of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea does not pose an imminent danger of
attack as to South Korea as far as the current military drills are concerned. Please note that under
Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter specifically states that states need to refrain in their
international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political
independence of any State or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United
Nations.
The joint military exercises has not, was not and is not force that has been authorized by the United
Nations Security Council and the provocative military exercises along the North Korean border are also
not force as for self-defense purposes due to the fact that the government of the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea has not attacked South Korea and does not pose an imminent danger of attack.
The joint military exercises are being done as an act of aggression and they need to stop. Further the
joint military exercises have the possibility as to causing there to be a breach to the peace and poses a

threat to the peace. All sides as to this conflict need to respectfully and properly peacefully co-exist
because armed conflicts typically do not have good ending results.
