INTRODUCTION
Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods
or services from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary service,
over the Internet. It is a form of electronic commerce. An online shop,
eshop, e-store, Internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual
store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a
bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping center. The process is called
business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping. When a business buys
from another business, it is called business-to-business (B2B) online
shopping.

COMPANY PROFILE
SNAPDEAL
Snapdeal is an online marketplace, New Delhi, India. The company was
started by, a Wharton graduate as part of the dual degree M&T
Engineering and Business program at Penn, and Rohit Bansal, an
alumnus of IIT Delhi in February 2010.
FLIPKART
Flipkart is an e-commerce company founded in 2007 by Sachin Bansal
and Binny Bansal. It is registered in Singapore and it operates in India,
where it is headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. Flipkart has launched
its own product range under the name "DigiFlip" with products including
tablets, USBs, and laptop bags.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

As no study could be successfully completed without proper tools and


techniques, same with my project. For the better presentation and right
explanation I used tools of statistics and computer very frequently. And I
am very thankful to all those tools for helping me a lot. Basic tools which
I used for project from statistics are- Bar Charts
- Pie charts
- Tables

SAMPLING METHOD

The nature of the project work has been descriptive as no


hypothesis, is taken to be tested. Though the conclusions drawn
could be taken as the hypothesis and further tested by the research
work undertaken in the relevant field. The reason for choosing the
descriptive research design is the fact the project report has been

primarily based upon the secondary sources of data and whose


authenticity could be assured of.
Primary sources
It has been collected by forming a proper questionnaire. Questionnaire is
a systematic and structured manner of collecting data for conducting
experiment. The nature of the questionnaire is very inductive and
fundamental. It has been kept in a proper framework to make it clear to
the retailers.
Primary data can be collected in five main ways:
i) Observation
ii) Focus groups
iii) Surveys
iv) Behavioral data
v) Experiments
Among these, survey method was selected to collect the primary data.
100 customers were visited & collected the required data relevant to this
project.
Secondary sources
Information was collected from secondary sources such as
customer

survey,

newspapers

advertisements,

Automobile

newsletters, etc.
Beside these the use of Internet was also made in collecting
relevant information. The data collected from the above mentioned

sources has been adequately structured and used at appropriate


places in the report. The information gathered included:
Their annual reports.
Pamphlets.
Newsletters.
Pictures.
Exchange schemes.

The sample size shorted out from the population (universe set) is
100 nos. to draw the conclusion of the study.
