Discussion

The first question is really "Why do you need a control system at all?" Consider the following.

What good is an airplane if you are a pilot and you can't make it go where you want it to
go?
What good is a chemical products production line if you can't control temperature,
pressure and pH in the process and you end up making tons of garbage?
What good is an oven if you can't control the temperature? (And, does it matter if it's an
oven in a kitchen or an oven in a heat-treating department that is used to harden metal
parts?)
What good is a pump if you can't control the flow rate it produces? (And, there are many
times when the flow rate must be controlled.)

The common denominator in all of these questions is that there is some physical
quantity that must be somehow controlled in a way that ensures that the physical quantity takes
on the value that is specified. There are even times when the physical quantity should take on
some pre-determined values that follow a function of time. (An example of that would be
landing an airplane where you want the plane to meet the ground following a specified
curve.) We need to think about how to control physical quantities in general, and to determine
what can be done - in a general way - to implement any schem we devise.
When a number of elements are combined together to form a system to produce desired
output then the system is referred as control system. As this system controls the output, it is so
referred. Each element connected to the system has its own effect on the output.
As the human civilization is being modernized day by day the demand of automation is
increasing accordingly. Automation highly requires control of devices. In recent years, control
systems plays main role in the development and advancement of modern technology and
civilization. Practically every aspects of our day-to-day life is affected less or more by some
control system. A bathroom toilet tank, a refrigerator, an air conditioner, a geezer, an automatic
iron, an automobile all are control system. These systems are also used in industrial process for
more output. We find control system in quality control of products, weapons system,
transportation systems, power system, space technology, robotics and many more.

Observation
Exercise 1
On the Exercise 1 our objective is that when we press open switch the door will open and
if we press close it will close. If it is fully open the lamp open will on and if full close the lamp
close will on. The movement will stop when neither of the pressed the open nor the close. The
motor will not be energized even you pressed it if it is fully Open/Close. In the activity we use 4
rung the 2 rungs are for the Open and close function plus the limit it will be open or close .and
the 2 rungs for the lamp function.
In the open and close rungs we use limit. As you can see the L 1/3 is XIC if the L 1/3 is
on the path is closed and if its off the path is close and there is no way the motor will energized
same aspect applied in the close limit if L 1/4 if the switch is off the motor will energized
because it is XIO and if L is on the path is not energized. For the lamp we use the L 1/3 and
L 1/4 as the base whether the lamp will on.
Exercise 2
On the Exercise 2 our objective is when we press open you dont need to hold open
switch the door will open until it is fully open . When the close switch is press you dont need to
hold close it will close until it is fully open. Stop is the new feature of the simulation if you press
stop it will stop either it is opening or closing. If it is half way neither close nor Open Ajar lamp
will on.
In this exercise we use branch to execute the objectives correct. We used 5 rungs 2 for
Open and Close function 3 for the indicator function or the lamp. In the 1st and 2nd rungs we use
branch as you can see if we press the open switch just once the motor will up until it will reach
its limit and cut the path same with the 2nd rung, stop switch is in this to rungs so that it will cut
the path if press. As in the indicator rungs ajar is only the addition with the previous exercise
here you can see the 3rd rung if the door is half way neither the limit is on thus the ajar will on.
Exercise 3
On the Exercise 3 is almost same with the exercise 2 there are only several features to be
add one of those was the flashing of the indicator lights as the door moves based on its position.
In this exercised the we introduced to a simple technique for adding flash to this program
it is designated by S2:4 that can be viewed in the data table display.Bit 0 is the highest rate. The
lower the bit number the higher the rate.
This activity is quite complicated than the 2 exercised we used 5 rungs each has branch
each rung. As you can see the 1st and 2nd rungs are same with the exercise 2 the last 3 rungs use
are different since the indicator function of the is different in the exercise 2.

For the Ajar steady state while the door is opening or closing and flashing if stop half way.

Conclusion
Control system is essential in our daily life. Control system is useful nowadays since
modernization automation is only natural to use. One example of automation is the door
automation that is used in this exercises.
In exercise 1 we use basic on and off function with additional limit switch that limit the
motor if it is already fully open or fully close with basic indicator Open and close lamp.
In exercise 2 it has same setup with 1 the difference is it is more automated , we use
branch in this exercise .In branch it is like true or false statement it has it option if the given
parameter is satisfy or true it is closed path if not satisfy then it will be open.
In exercised 3 it is the sum up of the 2 exercised with additional function like the flashing
of indicator. We use in this is the FREE RUNNING TIMER program which cause the flashing of
the indicator the lower bit number the higher the rate which set Bit 0 the highest rate.
