POWERS, D. T.

FTO S. Brown and I, Officer D. Powers, were dispatched to 201 N. Burkhardt Rd.
regarding a female shoplifter. Officers arrived and spoke with a loss prevention
employee at Kohls. The employee advised the suspect was observed in the store
concealing two shirts and two pairs of pants in her purse before exiting the store.
The employee also advised after the suspect left the store, she went to a van in the
parking lot and put the items in a shopping bag. The employee advised the suspect
then re-entered the store and returned the items, with the value being placed on a
gift card. After the transaction, loss prevention approached the suspect and
escorted her to the loss-prevention office.
Loss prevention employees provided officers with a list of items that were
recovered, which totalled to a value of $156.00. Dispatch confirmed that the
suspect also had two active misdemeanor warrants, both for Failure to Appear.
Officers transported the suspect to the Vanderburgh County Jail for booking.

that her ex-boyfriend was moving out of the residence. Victim stated that her
boyfriend had an acquaintance at the home between the listed time to help him
move out. Victim stated that when they left she noticed that the gaming system had
been stolen. Victim stated she suspects one of them of stealing the gaming system.

and failed. The offender showed a BrAC of .16% on the PBT. The offender was

greenish-leafy substance and a metal tube with burnt residue. The offender was
transported to the VCCC and tested on the intoxilyzer. The offender failed with a

Officers were dispatched to 114 E Maryland for a criminal damage report.


Dispatch advised that a silver pontiac drove by a vehicle parked at 114 E
Maryland. Dispatch advised that a subject in the pontiac leaned out of the vehicle
and struck the windshield with a baseball bat.
On scene I spoke with the witness. He advised that he observed the silver pontiac
drive W/B into the 100 block of E Maryland from Heidelbach. He advised that the
back rear drivers side passenger leaned out of the vehicle and struck a while
vehicle on the windshield that was parked on the side of the street. The witness
confronted the subjects in the pontiac. The witness was able to get a plate off of
the vehicle.
I was unable to make contact with the owner of the vehicle that was struck with
the bat. There was no damage to the vehicle`s windshield but there was a dent on
the front quarter panel next to the windshield.
Assisting officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle. Officers observed a
baseball bat on the rear passenger side floor board.The subjects were ID`d and
released.

Victim advised the suspect showed up this morning and had her keys and
attempted to give them back to her. She said he came in the back door of the
duplex and started ransacking the apartment and taking items. I asked her what
was taken and she said nothing. The apartment was in disarray but did not appear
to be from the suspect ransacking it. I spoke with the next door neighbor(IO) who
advised he is friends with the suspect. The neighbor advised the victim gave her
house keys to the suspect last night and he was returning them this morning. The
neighbor advised the victim came to his door and was beating on it and then
picked up a board and was swinging it around. He said that is when he grabbed a
small piece of wood from behind the door and told the suspect if she didn`t leave
he was going to use it. She finally went back to her residence. The victim was
extremely intoxicated when speaking with her and she did not appear to be telling
the whole truth as to what happened. I advised her that I would take a trespass
report and send it though.

Victim told the IO that she was hit by the suspect. When the IO located her near
the intersection of Michigan and Elliott the victim was bleeding from the right side
of her head. The IO administered first aid until ambulance crew arrived. She was
transported to Deaconess for treatment. When I asked the victim what happened
she said she did not remember. The IO stated when she saw the cut on the victims
head it looked as if she was hit with some type of object.

Officers were dispatched to 500 S New York on a domestic violence battery.


When we arrived we spoke with all parties involved. V#1 said that she and her ex
boyfriend/suspect had gotten into a verbal argument. She advised that suspect then
punched her in the side of her ribs and in the neck. V#1 had no signs of injury.
I spoke with suspect and IO#1 who is victims father. IO#1 advised that his
daughter (victim) had gone into suspect`s bedroom while he was sleeping and took
suspects cell phone. He advised that she then called someone on the phone and
began arguing with them. IO#1 said that suspect then came out of the bedroom. He
said that suspect and victim started arguing. He said they went into bedroom and
continued to argue. IO#1 said that he did not see anything physical take place.
IO#1 said that his daughter is the problem. He said that she is supposed to take
medicine and will not take it for her schizophrenia. He said that he and his wife are
in the process of evicting her. I spoke with suspect who advised that she had hit
him in the back of the head. He said that he didn`t think that he hit her back.
Neither party had any signs of injury. Suspect said that he did not want to pursue
charges. Suspect and victim use to date and have no kids together. Suspect left the
house.

was coming back to kill her and her dog.

number.

order against him having contact with the victim, grabbed the victim by the hair to
keep her from leaving while he and two other offenders threatened her. The
offender took the victim`s cellphone and smashed it to keep her from calling 911.

referencing a suicidal subject at the address. As officers were en-route to the


address, dispatch informed officers the subject left the residence.
Officers arrived and spoke with the victim. The victim informed officers she and
her daughter, the suspect, had a verbal altercation regarding money after CPS
required her daughter to leave the house for an open case. The victim informed
officers that after the argument, the suspect went to a bedroom in the home and
started "throwing things around." Officers observed a broken candle stick in the
hallway. The victim also informed officers that the suspect picked up her infant
son`s "high chair table" and threw it against the wall. Officers observed a small
hole in a wall of the bedroom, as well as the table on the bedroom floor. The
victim also informed officers the suspect "threw clothes at her." Clothing items
were observed scattered on the floor of the bedroom leading into the hallway.
The victim informed officers the suspect then proceeded to the kitchen, where she
held a knife to her own throat while making suicidal comments. The victim said
the suspect then went back to the hallway and attempted to open a gun cabinet.
The victim said the suspect still had the knife at this time. The victim said as she
tried to prevent her from opening the gun cabinet, the suspect "pushed" her away.
The victim informed officers that when this occurred, she was cut with the knife
the suspect was holding. The victim was unsure if she was cut while trying to take
the knife from her daughter or if she was unintentionally cut with the knife, but she
did not believe her daughter intended to cut her. The victim was observed on scene
to have a laceration to her left index finger. Officers also observed the knife lying
on the floor of the kitchen.
The victim stated that the suspect left the residence in "a dark tan Impala." The
victim also informed officers she received a text from the suspect after she left
which said, "You`ve just started a war."
During the incident, a neighbor was present in the home. The suspect`s infant son
was also in the home at the time of the occurrence. The victim informed officers
she has custody of the suspect`s infant child.
The victim was provided with a case number in reference to this report. The victim
informed officers she did not wish for the suspect to return to her home. Officers
advised the victim on how to obtain a protective order against the suspect.

I was dispatch to 2109 Vogel Rd reference a residential burglary report. I arrived


and spoke with the victim. Victim stated she left for vacation on August 13th
about 0730 hours and returned on today`s date at about 1940 hours. Victim stated
she noticed in her bedroom that her necklaces and jeweler were missing from the
top of the chest. There was also a black women`s t-shirt on the floor in her
bedroom by the closet that didn`t belong to her. The closet door was opened but
nothing was taken out of it.
It was determined the point of entry was the back window on the south side of the
home to the second spare bedroom. Just below the window was a small table that
had been moved, picture laying on the floor and a missing vase. There was no
forced entry to the window. Victim stated that the window may had been unlocked
by mistake. I went outside to look at the window and the vase was located under
the window in the landscaping. There was some partial prints and smudge marks
on the window. I notified Crime Scene Mayhew to process. Victim was given a
case number and was advised to call police or records if finds other items missing.

altercation.
Officers then spoke with the listed offender outside the apartment building. He
stated he was invited over by Streeter and he asked her if she was "sleeping with
anyone." He said after he said that she "snapped" and headbutted him. He
continued to state after she headbutted him he grabbed her arms. The listed
offender had glassy, watery eyes and slurred speech. Officers could also detect an
odor of alcoholic beverages coming from his person. When officers asked if he
would like to pursue charges for the cut on his nose he stated he did not because
that is his "baby`s mamma" and she is "beautiful." He was informed there would
be no charges filed at that time by either party, but a report would be generated.

Fulkerson agreed that he could look through her vehicle for any of the stolen
items. Greulich said that he did not find any of his belongings. Greulich said that
Fulkerson said that once the power had been turned off, she went back outside to
the car. Fulkerson told Greulich that Turner walked out with two bags but she did
not know what were in them. I arrived at Greulich`s residence and he was looking
through his security camera footage. Greulich was able to show that at 1615, both
Turner and Fulkerson were in the residence gathering her belongings. Greulich
showed me that the power was shut off at 1630 and Turner was standing at the
back door where the power box is located. Greulich said that Turner had moved
back to Ky 3 weeks ago. Greulich said that he was missing a handgun, 300 in
change, 20 in 2 dollar bills and a laptop computer.
Greulich was advised to call dispatch if he was able to make a copy of the security
footage.

McCann took off on his motorcycle and led officers on a short pursuit. Mccann
eventually stopped in the alley behind his home. He was taken into custody and
booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail.

The victim stated that he is employed by the suspect. The victim said he had
worked a ten hour day and the suspect only paid him $40. When the confronted the
suspect and complained about the low pay, the suspect became irate. The two
argued. The argument escalated and the suspect head butted the victim on the right
side of the face. The victim stated that there were other friends of the suspects
there but no one intervened. The victim was dazed but fled the business and made
it to his mothers house where he collapsed. The victim had visible swelling on the
right side of his face. Officer observed his injury. The victim was treated by
paramedics from AMR #0347 but refused to go to the hospital. His mother and
sister said they would take him to the hospital if his condition worsened. The
victim was provided a case number and a telephone number to the records dept. He
was advised to follow up at the prosecutors office as soon as possible.
