The local bourse continued its rally adding

2.14 percent from the previous month on the
back of continued momentum from the Duterteled administration. Global markets also
continued its rally despite many risks abound
such as the Brexit aftermath, recent terrorist
attacks and a failed military coup in Turkey. It
is also important to note that Philippine
neighbors Thailand and Indonesia, collectively
forming the TIPs, have likewise moved higher.
Favorable news for the Philippine economy led
by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez
provided
clearer
insights
of
the
administration's 10-point economic agenda.
President Duterte also reinforced these
statements at the first State of the Nation
Address. The PSEi is up 14 percent postelections. Execution of the economic program
will be a strong catalyst for local equities.
While the PSEi is trading near the all-time high
of 8,137, we note the possible correction in the
near term, especially since we will be entering
the Chinese ghost month which has been
proven to be weak for the PSEi. However, we
maintain our long term bullish stance on local
equities.
The Fund gained 2.31 percent for the month.
Year to date, the Fund has returned 12.03
percent.
