Quiaquizzes:Quia quizzes can be taken at home or at school. You will be provided a username and password
unique to this class. These quizzes have a time limit and a deadline. Once the deadline has passed, the quiz
closes and students are no longer able to access it. Students always have an opportunity to retake the Quia quiz,
regardless of their first grade. Retakes open the day after the original quizzes close. The retake grade will
replace the original grade, regardless of the score. Once the retakes have closed, the quiz grade is final.
Tests: Tests will be given at the end of each chapter in the areas of listening comprehension, reading, writing,
speaking, vocabulary and grammar. There are no re-take opportunities for tests.

website (broughtonspanish.weebly.com). The days agenda, homework assignment and any handouts will be
posted so that students have access at any time. In case the students lose a handout, they must download it off
the internet because no extra copies will be available.
Cell phones/electronic devices: In accordance with WCPSS Board Policy, cellphones, iPods and other
electronic devices should be turned off and put away during the school day (7:25am to 2:18pm). Headphones
are not permitted during the school day.
Cheating: Cheating is considered a serious offense. Students caught cheating in class will receive a ZERO for
the given assignment, in accordance with the school wide grading policy. Cheating includes, but is not limited
to; copying off another student on a test or quiz, using a cheat sheet, copying or allowing another student to
copy a homework or classwork assignment, using a cell phone during an assessment, and USING GOOGLE
TRANSLATE to translate entire sentences.

Classroom procedures
It is important that students are familiar with these routines and understand their expected behavior in class.
Beginning of Period
Students are expected to be ready to work when the bell rings. Students should have their homework and stamp
sheets out and get right to work on the Bellwork assignment. This is an individual assignment and there should
not be any talking at this time. The Tardy Policy as described in the student handbook is enforced. Students
arriving after the bell will be directed to tardy sweep. No students are allowed out of the classroom during the
first/last 10 minutes of the class period.
End of Period
I will stop instruction and class activities two minutes before the final bell rings. At this time I will review
homework expectations and give students time to straighten desks, clean up the floors and put away materials.
Students will remain seated until dismissed by the teacher.
PA announcements
All student talk should stop immediately upon hearing a school announcement on the PA system. These
messages often contain important information that goes unheard if people are talking in class.
Late Work / Make-Up Work
If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to look on the class website to find out what work was missed
and print off needed handouts/worksheets. If you are absent on a test or quiz day, you must be ready to make up
that assignment upon returning. Those types of assignments may only be made up before or after school.
The Attendance Policy, Tardy Policy, and Honor Code will be implemented as outlined in the student
handbook.
