OVERCOMING NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR

There are 5 different kinds of negative behaviors one encounters in life:1.

Complaining behavior.
Resistance behavior.
Disruptive behavior.
Demanding behavior.
Aggressive behavior.

Lot of psychological training needed in order to deal with these kinds of


behaviors.

Ways to tackle the negative behaviors.


1. COMPLAINING BEHAVIOR:
a. Giving feedbacks to the person with complaining attitude.
b. Use soothing words like When you, I feel etc. while explaining.
c. Using kind language.
d. Controlling interruptions using hand gestures and other non-verbal
actions.
e. Control your own temper while explaining.
2. RESISTANCE BEHAVIOR:
a. Plan how to overcome resistance.
b. Dont pus someones resistance.
c. Be patient.
d. Uncover hidden needs.
e. Identify reasons for the hidden needs and reason it with the person.
f. Listen carefully and mark the indications to find hidden needs.
3. DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR:
a. Some people have habit of disrupting people who are working.
b. Never reward initial disruptions or encourage them.
4. DEMANDING BEHAVIOR:
a. Some people have unreasonable high expectation.
b. Negotiate and seek commitment.
c. Be clear about your thoughts.
d. Talk politely.
5. AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR:
a. Dont get upset or irritated.
b. Give feedback.
c. Uncover hidden needs.
d. Stop rewarding disruptions.
e. If cant change the way other person is dealing; change your own attitude.
CONCLUSION: Learning to tackle negative behavior is important in working
environment.
