LaGrange, IL
Painter, Crew Chief, May 2013 to August 2013 & May 2014 to August 2014 & May 2015 to
August 2015, May 2016 to August 2016
I developed and demonstrated a strong skill set encompassing business practices,
communication, organizational management, and sales, along with a firm understanding of the
mechanics of leadership applicable to any profession.
Prepared budgeted work, made sales with customers, trained employees, assisted and
supervised teams.
Allocated materials, equipment, and manpower daily to create an effective and efficient
environment for the teams.

Projects:
Preliminary Design of a Firefighter Flying Boat
August 2015 - December 2015
Collaborative effort with a small design group to complete the preliminary design cycle of
the next generation of amphibious airplanes that are capable of carrying our firefighting
and water rescue missions.
Successfully obtained an overall improvement of the performance with key features
including
Higher payload capacity to 7,907 kg.
Longer range of 5,556 km and a higher cruise speed of 0.42 Ma.
Higher water-loading efficiency.
Swift transformation for different missions with an easy to replace single central
tank design.
Reduced take off drag by 7% by doing a MATLAB simulation based on geometric
assumptions and historical data.
Looked into the stability of the aircraft when flying through smoke filled regimes.
Remote Piloted RC Aircraft
January 2016 - May 2016
Design, build, and test the flight performance of a remote piloted aircraft.
Analysis of the airfoils, finite wing, and static pitch stability of main wing/tail surface
assembly is done using XFLR5.
Successfully designed a stable RC aircraft.
Used AutoCAD and Compufoil3D to design the aircraft structure and further more built the
RC aircraft.
Did test flights to evaluate the predicted characteristics, and how closely the aircraft met
mission requirements.
Used equivalent blade theory to correctly predict both the required thrust and available
thrust versus the airspeed for a propeller at different motor throttle settings using historical
data.
Optimizing Turbofan Engine Performance
January 2015-May 2015
A team of 6 collaborated together to successfully optimize an existing Pratt & Whitney
JT8D engine.
The new intake fan was given a bypass ratio of 3 and a pressure ratio of 4 to increase the
Net Thrust by 7.9 kN and increase the TSFC by 5.48 mg/s/N.
Used a two-stage compressor made of Titanium or Aluminum to resist crack growth or
creep and stand high strength at high temperatures.
Went with an annular combustor type made from Nimonic 263 which has a higher melting
temperature, density, and ultimate strength.
Emissions were reduced by evenly mixing the fuel, improving the engines efficiency, and
minimizing the amount of unburned fuel at low power levels.
A high pressure turbine with turbine blades made from Nickel-based super-alloys with an
integrated air cooling system that gets air from the intake allowed for a maximum inlet
temperature of roughly 2,800 degrees Fahrenheit.
Wet Shoe Rack Product Design
January 2015-May 2015
The purpose of the project was to identified a problem that people have every day, in this
case where to put their wet shoes, and as a team make a prototype that solved the initial
problem. I used user-centered methods such as personally questioning more than 50
people and listening to their stories on the subject matter to make a product that these
people said felt better to use.
Leader of a 5 person team that initiated and advanced the team's project ideas through a
collaborative innovation process.

Developed an understanding of the context of workplace project possibilities that can

create value at the convergence of user, technology, and business.
