1- SCOPE
This procedure is provided to outline the minimum requirement for hydrostatic testing
on ANCHOR FLANGE.
2- STANDARDS
The following standards and specification will be applicable in this procedure:
- ASME B31.4
3- NOTIFICATION
Inspection notification will be issued by manufacturer and the test shall be performed in
presence of notified party.
4- PREPARATIONS
Before hydrostatic test, following parts shall be done and checked:
Inner part of ANCHOR FLANGE shall be thoroughly cleaned and free from
debris, loses, dirt, slag, weld spatter.
All welded parts shall be fully accomplished and accepted by NDT.
Vent shall provided at all high point of the system, and also, some drain shall be
fitted at lowest parts.
All pressure gauges shall be calibrated with a minimum of 1.5 times to a
maximum 4 times of the final test pressure.
Pressure gauge face diameter suggested not be less than 100 mm in order to have
better visibility.

All pressure gauges used for pressure test shall be calibrated and certificate be
shown.
Testing shall be performed by qualified personnel.
Pump used for filling and pressurizing of the ANCHOR FLANGE shall be
selected in away to prevent damage to vessel including shocks and over
pressurizing.
Adequate vent shall be prepared for during filling and draining the water.
5- TEST MEDIUM
The temperature of the utilized water for the tests should be 17C above the
minimum design temperature, but need not exceed 48C.
The test fluid shall be fresh water and shall not contain suspended solids parts.
Water analysis certificate shall be attached to the report.
The water temperature shall be held constant during test and it shall be in a way to
reduce the risk of brittle.
6- PRESSURIZING
The pressure test will be conducted in accordance with standards that be mentioned in
part2.For ANCHOR FLANGE the pressure will be gradually increased by stages of 20%
of increments up to 50 % of test pressure and the system shall be checked for leaks on
the connections in case of any leak pressure shall be dropped and the leaks shall be
removed from the affected parts. Then the pressure shall be increased in stages of
approximately 10% until the test pressure (Test Pressure =1.5 Design Pressure).

10- REPORTING
After completion of test, a hydrostatic test report in which all test variables were
reflected will be prepared and signed by attendant parties (e.g. client, third party
inspector and manufacturers).
