ADMISSION CRITERIA
The admission criteria are as follows:
a) Graduates of the University of Zambia who have
been admitted to the appropriate Bachelors
degree in Engineering or related field with at
least a Credit; or
b) Graduates of other recognized universities who
have been admitted to the appropriate
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
with at least a Lower second class honors; or,
c) A Post-Graduate Diploma in Engineering or
equivalent, plus three years of relevant working
experience.
d) In exceptional circumstances, graduates who
possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering or
related field with a pass or its equivalent,
and have a minimum of two years acceptable
professional experience at an appropriate level
or other qualifications relevant to the pursuit of
graduate studies may be accepted for admission.

HOW TO APPLY
Part II Research Component (Second Year)
Part II comprises research work and a dissertation. A
candidate is, at the end of his/her research work, and prior
to the submission of his or her dissertation, expected to
present the results of his/her research work at an open
Seminar organized by the Directorate of Research and
Graduate Studies for the purposes of discussion and
comments.

Application forms for admission are available from


the Assistant Registrar at the School of Engineering
or at the Directorate of Graduate Studies. These
forms are also available on the the Universitys
website, which can be found at:

Submission of the forms should be done at the
School of Engineerings Assistant Registrar or
Accounts Office with proof of payment of the
application fees.

INTRODUCTION

Master of Engineering in Engineering Management

The School of Engineering is located at the main campus


of the University of Zambia in Lusaka. In its quest to
meet the challenges of engineering practice in the
21st century, the School has introduced a number of
new innovative Taught Master of Engineering Degree
programmes. The programmes are tailored to meet the
needs of busy professionals who are not able to attend
class during the day but would be able to attend evening
classes. The programmes have two main components:
taught courses which are undertaken in the first year;
and a research component undertaken in the second
year.
