VISITOR COMMENTS:
Dear Rozmy,
Id like to summarize some of the things we discussed in our feedback
session. First of all, it would be important to pay much more attention to the
English we display in front of our students. Remember that I many ways we
are the English models they have to learn from. A second point is that of
using prompts on the board to make the students conversation more natural
and consequently reflect the type of interaction students need to perform in
real life. Finally, please consider that modelling the activities imply showing
students both the behavior they need to perform as well as the language
they have to use. Im sure you can easily implement these strategies and
procedures in your teaching.
Best regards,
Ivan Aguilar
TEACHERS COMMENTS
Dear teacher,
First of all Id like to thank you for our feedback session. It very important to
be aware of the English we display in front of our learners, it is true. I have to
pay much more attention in the English I display because I am a model to
them which gives me a big responsibility that I need to improve. Moreover I
have to create a need on students to use English to communicate their ideas,
thoughts and feeling, so the prompts I give them must reflect interaction in
real life. My thought about modeling was wrong, it is not about explanations
it is about showing them how to do and what to use to do so. Now I
understand that modeling is really important for students because they need
to know the behavior the teacher expects and the language they have to use
to do so. In conclusion I have to show better language use in front of my
students, provide prompts that reflect real interaction and model the activity
showing learners how to do and what to use during a task.
