Dear Parent, Guardian, or Caregiver,
My name is Hazel Sparrow and I am excited to be your son or daughters Intensive Reading teacher for the
2016-2017 school year. Id like to make sure that you are aware of the learning objectives I have outlined for
the 2016-2017 school year. You have probably heard that the state of Florida has adopted the Language Arts
Florida Standards (LAFS). That means that the instruction will be more rigorous and include more writing. Be
assured that I will continue to provide the support each student needs to be successful. My primary goal is to
improve each students reading comprehension and writing skills by making connections between readings,
writing, and speaking. If you have any questions about anything contained in this letter, please contact me as
soon as possible.
