This workshop will explore the process of creating a clay/resin
cast relief (hands). Kyle will cover ways to combine clay and resin to create cast positives that do not rely on any traditional firing methods; it is chemically hardened and re-workable. The resulting forms can be cut, drilled, sanded, etc., to achieve different textures. He will demonstrate a variety of surface treatments including oils, acrylics, stains, and techniques of highlighting, shadowing, and weathering techniques. Provided: Plaster Casting Tools (brushes, buckets, shellac, Vaseline, hammers, chisels, paint, sandpaper, clay, drop clothes, and clean up tools) Provided: Safety Equipment (rubber gloves, dust masks/respirators, safety glasses, and aprons) Cost: $35 per participant (covers cost of Bondo lightweight filler and fiberglass resin) **Limited to 15 participants.
